  2. I would like to share my experience. In 1999 I was traveling to work at 4:30 a.m. on Hwy 377, entering Benbrook, TX. and traveling NE. I was a deputy sheriff going to a 6:00 a.m. roll call. To my left at the Wills Ranch I noticed an object on the ground near some high voltage utility lines. It appeared to be shooting red laser beams in the air. I had WBAP AM radio on waiting for the news. An announcer came on and asked if anyone had seen any strange lights near Benbrook, TX. I immediately called the station to report what I was seeing. I was put on live radio. As I was describing the object I felt something go down my body from head to toe like warm syrup. My Silverado pickup lost all electrical power. The engine shut down. Fortunately I was able to coast to the side of the road. I was stunned and could not continue my conversation. I could not even reason about anything. About 10 minutes later I checked my watch to see if I had lost any time. I was feeling better and able to move some what. I did not lose any time except the time I was stopped. I was able to start my engine and continue to work. At work there were several other deputies that heard me on live radio. They joked with me about seeing a UFO. I never indicated that. I said I had seen an object on the ground. It was very dark making it impossible to get a good description. After my shift was over I called WBAP radio to see if they had determined what the object was. No one knew. The lady said others had also reported it. The radio station had a fixed wing spotter plane above reporting what they were seeing. After this it seems no one was allowed to talk about this event any more. To this day it still is a mystery.
