Hi Ken : The sky was clear and blue and I was watching a passenger plane pass over the area when I decided to take some photographs of it with my Nikon P900 camera. I was in the process of taking photographs when a white sphere of light just appeared out of no where and flew around the sky right in front of the passenger plane. I captured the white sphere of light in four of the photographs before I lost sight of it. I couldn’t believe it I wasn’t even trying to capture a UFO… It was just sheer luck that I just happened to be photographing the passenger plane at that precise moment. I often like to take photographs of passing passenger planes as they fly over the area and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is out there trying to spot UFOs as they are clearly drawn to commercial aircraft.
The question is where are these strange objects coming from and how do they just seem to appear out of thin air like that? I really would like to know. I believe that the government knows what these strange object really are and is purposely withholding this information from the public. There’s still time left for the government to come out and save face and tell the general public the truth. Why are they allowing these unidentified objects to freely fly around in the sky with complete impunity. I am calling the government out on their cowedly cover up of the whole situation. This cowedly cover up as gone on for far to long. Enough is enough It just isn’t right. The general public have the right to know the truth and need to be informed as to what is really going on in the skies above them! This truth embargo won’t last forever. Dr. Davis said that he was driving toward his home on Friday, November 21 between 9 and 10:00 p.m. with his 2 sons, 15 and 18-years old (He recalls the specific date, knowing that one son is in college and would not have been home any day except Friday).
While driving, they all spotted a soundless aerial object over a nearby open field that was described as an oval-shaped, white-colored light source as big as a pea held at arms length which moved ‘like a hummingbird would move.’
The object, seen in the dark and clear night skies, was relatively high when first seen and was “coming down, moving in increments as if an elevator would drop and stay there awhile, then drop and stay there awhile,” Dr. Davis said.
After the first 3 or 4 minutes of visual observation, the object began moving around to different parts of the sky. They got out of car to see if they could identify this object and verified to their satisfaction that the object was not a plane, helicopter or aurora borealis.
“My first inclination was to rationalize what this object could have been,” Dr. Davis said. “rather than jumping to conclusions. After we ruled out the various possible explanations we assumed that this was a UFO.”
“I know for a fact that there was no explanation for this object and I’m just glad I had my two sons with me to see it,” he said.
After observing this object for a few minutes, Dr. Davis and his 2 sons got back in the car and drove on to their home under a certain sense of apprehension.
“I would say that our feeling was more a sense of apprehension than fear,” he said, “I did not know what it was we were looking at and had some concern that it might or could have spotted us.”
After driving the short distance to their house, they went to a second floor bedroom and looked out the window to the northwest where they continued to watch the object. It descended lower toward the ground and seemed to be settling in a nearby field where its color had shifted from a white to an orange. As the object got lower and lower to the ground, it became bigger and its color changed to a reddish light.
He said that the size of the object increased from a pea at arms length to a dime at arm’s length, stressing that its size, from his perspective, was “not quite as drastic as a nickel at arms length.”
“There was like a vacuum of silence while we watched this,” Dr. Davis said, “it was like everything was real quiet, at a standstill and then when it became a red color, everything went crazy.”
Dr. Davis said that animals in the area suddenly erupted in a frenzy. His neighbors dog was barking crazily and his German Shepherd dog tried to break its chain.
From his perspective, the object descended to the ground but was not certain that it touched or made contact with the ground as trees prevented him from seeing this with certainty.
“At that point, after this object got red, it just “shot off” like a dart, some kind of acceleration and it just took off to the west. We just stood there dumbfounded.”
He said the sighting lasted for an estimated 10 to 15 minute duration.
“I was very reluctant to call the police about a UFO sighting,” he said, “at that point, we were not going to report this.”
“Right after that my 2-sons went back outside and heard the screaming. It was a female voice. They got in the car and within minutes had called from their cell phone to say that they had been hearing screaming sounds in the field where this thing came down,” he said.
“Approximately 20-minutes after the UFO sighting the police were at my door, there were about 20 officers and a rescue squad over in the field where I spotted the UFO. They were combing the area and had asked me what I knew about someone screaming.”
“Apparently, others had heard the screaming sounds.”
I asked Dr. Davis if he could explain what was heard and he emphasized that he did not hear the screaming sounds himself, that his 2 sons heard the disturbing commotion, along with other residents in the area that notified law enforcement.
Dr. Davis paused from our conversation to check with one of his sons, asking if he could recount the nature of the screaming sounds. He said it was a desperate, blood curdling scream of a female voice that kept saying: “Help me, oh my God, help me!”
“Apparently several people had heard the screaming, I don’t know how long it lasted,” he said.
When the police arrived at his doorstep knocking on his door (an estimated 15 minutes after the UFO departed), Dr. Davis volunteered information about the UFO sighting.
“I took the officer to the side and explained to him that this is going to sound crazy, but I need to tell you what I saw tonight.”
“I told the police about the UFO after they came to the door, I don’t know if anyone else saw the UFO but the officer taking my report took me seriously. He didn’t write anything down while I talked with him,” Dr. Davis said.
When asked if the police officer indicated that anyone else had also witnessed the UFO, Dr. Davis said that the police officer said he had seen a UFO also, but was uncertain if he was referring to the same object or a separate, unrelated sighting.
Dr. Davis said that aside from reporting this to the police officer who knocked on his door, he had not reported this sighting to any other person and that he was not the source for the report which was submitted to The National UFO Reporting Center. He was puzzled how the report made it to NUFORC and said that neither he, nor his sons, reported the sighting to anyone.
“I’m still trying to figure out who reported this,” Dr. Davis said after our conversation. He went on to say how he got “freaked out” when the cops came to the door asking about the screaming sounds.
He described the area of his residence as isolated and surrounded by fields and woodland. His road is paved. He emphasized that the screaming sounds came from the immediate area where the unidentified object had came to the ground. “The screaming sounds came from the field, and I have no explanation for it.”
Dr. Davis, who teaches psychology for the Ashland, Kentucky Community College branch of the University of Kentucky, also said that he had previously seen a UFO when he was in his Freshman year in college at Morehead State University in 1976. He said the object was similar to what he saw on Friday, November 21, 2003. NOTE: The above image is CGI.
On Saturday, around 1700 hrs, I saw the following from my bedroom window in Veitsch, Styria. I have my pc there and was looking again like countless times towards Stanglalm (N.B. that is a local mountain south of my home). I saw 3 silent dark grey objects approx. 20-30 meters in length or diameter coming from the area of Sommerberg flying/gliding towards Stanz in Mürztal. My window was open and at first I thought I saw birds, it was absolutely quit outside, aeroplanes and helicopters make quite a sound. the three flew in a straight line after one other, the first two a few hundrred meters apart and the 3 about 10 second behind the second object at the apparently same height and direction. I knew they were objects rather than bird when the flew through some sort of electrical cloud, I could see numerous flashes of light on the “skin”/outer grey layer on each object. A bird would die instantly if caught in a lightning bolt and crash. I saw each object approx. 3-5 seconds, that was to short to get my olympus 800uz, as it takes 30-45 seconds to fire it up. The US Navy is drafting new guidelines for pilots and personnel to report sightings of unexplained aerial phenomena, colloquially known as UFOs.
The Navy told Politico on Tuesday that the decision was made in response to recent sightings of unidentifiable aircraft spotted near protected airspace and naval and air formations.
“There have been a number of reports of unauthorized and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-controlled ranges and designated airspace in recent years,” the Navy said in a statement to Politico. “For safety and security concerns, the Navy and the [US Air Force] takes these reports very seriously and investigates each and every report.”
In November, pilots for British Airways and Virgin Airways reported bright, quickly moving lights off the Irish coast. “We saw a bright light and then it disappeared at a very high speed,” the British Airways pilot, who was flying from Canada to the UK, told air traffic control in a recording. “We don’t think it was on a collision course, but we were wondering what it could’ve been.”
According to the Navy statement to Politico, the new guidelines would formalize a process for reporting unusual findings, like the sighting of an unexplainable aircraft. “The Navy is updating and formalizing the process by which reports of any such suspected incursions can be made to the cognizant authorities,” said the statement.
A 2017 report from the New York Times found that the Pentagon dedicated $22 million to an office called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) that investigated reports of unidentified flying objects. The office was officially shut down in 2012, the New York Times reported, but officials continued to investigate sightings while performing their other duties.
Luis Elizondo, a retired Pentagon official who previously ran that office, told Politico that personnel aren’t encouraged to report sightings. “If you are in a busy airport and see something you are supposed to say something,” Elizondo said. “With our own military members it is kind of the opposite: ‘If you do see something, don’t say something.'” NOTE: The above image is GCI.
I was enrolled in a doctoral course that met from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Baylor University two nights a week. After class, I was driving west going home when I noticed a bright light above Lake Waco. At first, I thought it was the planet Venus; but as I continued to drive toward the Lake as I lived on the west side of town, I could the light appeared more and more to my right. So knew it wasn’t but was probably a helicopter. Two nights later as I was driving home from class, I noticed the same light again. Since as I wasn’t sure if it was a helicopter or something else, I thought I would check it out. Instead of going home, I drove over the bridge at Lake Waco and took the first exit to the right which led into Speegleville Park. I could see the craft was over the west side of the Lake in a stationary position with a white light pointing east. As I approached the craft, it turned off the light and started moving to the southwest. I could tell it was a black triangular craft. It crossed over the highway, and I decided to follow it. I got back on the highway and watched the craft cross over the highway and settled behind a clump of trees on the south side the highway. I then took the next exit and crossed over on an overpass to the area where I saw the craft go down. As I drove slowly past the trees, I could not the see the craft. The road curved back to east; and I pulled up about 100 yards, turned off my lights but left the engine running. Looking in my rear view mirror after a few moments, I saw the slowly rise from the trees and started coming toward where I was parked. It then pulled up to where I was on the other side of the fence. It turned facing me and stayed motionless, making no sound. It was on the other what appeared to a telephone line about 10 feet above it. I could definitely tell that the craft was black, triangular in shape, about 20 feet wide and 30 feet long. It had a cockpit with a greenish hue inside, and I could see the shadows of 3 small heads peering down at me. After about 4-5 minutes, a green light shined down on my vehicle, causing the engine to die. I tried to restart it to no avail. I tried turning on my lights and then the radio; but nothing worked. Getting nervous, I locked my doors. I sat there a good 15-20 minutes, trying every 2-3 minutes to start my engine. Finally, the engine turned over, and I drove down the road about another 100 yards where I turned on my lights and turned around. As I drove past the craft on my left, it hadn’t moved. When I got back on the highway heading east, I could see it was still there. About 3 years later, I saw what appeared to be the same craft above the lights at the south end of the La Vega football field, apparently observing a football game. My family and I were headed toward my wife’s family for dinner. And I wanted to drive over and show her what I had seen years earlier; but she didn’t want to go. Having served two years in AF ROTC and two years in the US Army with a Top Secret Clearance, I can say without any doubt that this craft was not one of ours. – MUFON CMS NOTE: The above image is CGI.

Hi Ken : I was sky watching when I spotted a luminous object approaching. The object was sphere shaped and the top half was blue while the bottom half was white. The sphere moved very slowly across the night sky before coming to a stop. The sphere just hung there in the sky like it was waiting for something. I looked through my binoculars at the sphere looking for a conventional explanation but there was none it was definitely odd and unusual. After a while of watching the sphere I then spotted a larger object that was approaching from the west. This larger object was shaped like a gherkin. The gherkin shaped object glowed different colours as it moved and got closer. As soon as the gherkin shaped object was near and in front of the sphere it seemed to somehow attach it’s self to the sphere by using light. It was like the tractor beam out of star trek. The beam appeared to fluctuate in brightness as it began to pull the sphere. I quickly took a photograph and watched in amazement as the gherkin shaped object pulled the Sphere away across the night sky and off in to the distance. I was speechless. I have seen a lot of UFOs but I have never seen anything like this before it was really incredible to witness this. I have been sky watching a lot lately and have seen and photographed some very unusual things. Why do I see UFOs on a regular basis? This is a report of an interview I conducted of a person who was at the Roswell crash site. I am a retired engineer. I joined the staff of the then new campus of the University of California at Santa Cruz. There were several sightings of UFO’s in the mountains behind the campus in 1969 and reported to the University. I was asked to interview 3 people and file a report. I could find on credibility or evidence in these events but, because it was a small campus and everybody in the Sciences knew what was going on, I got the unwanted reputation of someone who knew about UFO’s. One day in 1970, a maintenance worker who I knew well from my church, came into my lab and said he had a friend who wanted to talk to me but did not want to meet in a public place. I suggested we meet at my home that evening. At the time, I did not know he wanted to tell me about a UFO incident. That evening I was told by the two men that they had been captured by the Germans during WW2 and spent a year and a half in a POW camp. They became good friends during that time and remained so after the war. The individual I interviewed was a welder by trade and after the war was employed at the Roswell Air Force base welding jigs and fixtures for servicing aircraft. He began by stating that the week before the 4th of July flying saucers would fly over the base in pairs every once in a while. He said they were circular and had a large dome on the top. They were flat on the bottom and were silent. He assumed they were some technology obtained from the Germans. He said everyone working there called them “flats.” . He said that he had just returned back to work after the 4th of July holiday when a truck pulled up and an officer got out and told him to load a cutting torch and fresh tanks and that they were going out to the desert. He said that it was mid afternoon when they arrived at the crash site. He said at the time he thought a plane had gone down. He said they had a flatbed truck loaded with wreckage and there were soldiers on their hands and knees picking up every piece of wreckage and putting it in cloth bags. He said the bags were the kind used for sandbags. He said they drove a little farther out of sight from the wreckage and came upon a second group of people standing around an intact UFO. He said the brush was knocked down indicating the craft had skidded across the ground and came to rest nosed into a natural berm with the back side slightly off the ground. He described the craft as being about 25/26 feet in diameter with a large dome on top. He said the craft was the ‘color of weak tea’ with a burnished finish. He said there were no signs of weld marks, seams, or rivets and that all of the edges had either an inside or outside radius. There were no visible windows or openings. That was why he was brought there. He was told to cut an opening in the dome big enough for a man to crawl through. By this time it was getting to be late afternoon and there were soldiers setting up a bank of portable lights. He said he began cutting a hole from the base of the dome. He said it was a tough alloy and slow cutting but the material was surprisingly thin. He tried bending the metal out of his way as he was cutting but the metal would spring back to its original shape without creasing. He finished his cut and set the metal piece aside and looked into the cockpit for a few seconds before he was ordered off the craft. He said it was difficult to see very far into the craft because of the glare from the portable lights and the cockpit was full of smoke from the cutting torch. He said he saw two beings who appeared to be dead. He said the cockpit had a strong smell of ammonia. He described the two beings as being about 4′ tall but they were doubled up so it was hard to say. They were wearing what he said were skin tight purplish flight suits that reminded him of sequins. He described their heads as what we now refer to as greys. He said there were no visible instruments that he could see. He was ordered off the craft with his gear and returned to the Air Base. He said it was dark when they arrived and he was escorted by armed guards into a building for a debriefing. He said there were several high ranking officers at the table along with 4 or 5 civilians in suits. He said that after he was debriefed he was told that he was not to talk about what he had seen as it was a state secret and if he was caught divulging anything he would spend the rest of his life in prison or worse. He was scared to death by the threat and my friend and myself are the only people he ever told and that was 23 years after the event. When we started the interview, I was told that I could not take notes or use a recorder. He was very nervous telling the story and had to be reassured by my friend that I would not betray him. He said that what had been described as the Roswell event was not true and he wanted the truth told after his death. He asked that I keep what he told me a secret until after his death which I have done. He and my friend both passed away in the late 1980’s. . When I heard this story I did not know what to think. I was not a UFO buff and had never heard the Roswell story. My friend said this guy was the real thing and during the interview I never sensed anything odd about his presentation or with his mannerisms. He provided a lot more information that I have stated but the interview was almost 50 years ago and forgotten. I think he was telling the truth. My friend was a very honorable and trustworthy man who would knowingly support a bogus story. I never saw or spoke the welder again after that evening. I was looking at some ESA photo (European Space Administration) when I noticed a triangle shaped craft sitting on comet P67. This craft has a tail fin like a plane and has sides like a stealth fighter jet. Its color is proof that its not part of the surface of the comet, since 99.9% of the comet looks dark, but not this ship. Can you imagine the ESA using their Rosette lander to take close up photos of this? The ESA said the lander no longer responds and has ended the mission…but that is a ruse to make the public believe this, and in reality, they will continue their mission, but this time looking for alien technology that can be retrieved and used, like this small ship of about 10 meters. AMATEUR ASTROMOMER’S PHOTO OF A UFO CROSSING THE MOON
I was in Westerly, Rhode Island videotaping the moon, a close up during day time when suddenly I noticed through my camera viewfinder an UFO crossing the screen. Once disappeared from my viewfinder I look up and I did not see it again. It was very far away in comparison with the moon. It looked like an orb of light. There was not stray of smoke or any other sign like an airplane. It was moving in a diagonal line from north to south west (from my stand point) I thought it was an UFO. I showed the video to a couple a guys who were at short distance from me and they thought it was a flying source. I kept looking up and continue videotaping the moon in case I can see it again but nothing happened.
This case is under investigation by Ken Pfeifer State Director for MUFON Rhode Island.
KENS NOTE: This is the perfect example of what amateur astronomers are capturing ever day. Seems like most of the UFO sightings are from people who are smoking outside of their homes at night. You will never see a UFO unless your are looking up into the sky….Simple as that.
“The destruction or disappearance of military aircraft during interceptions of UFOs continued apace.” As General Benjamin Chidlaw, former commanding general of Air (later Aerospace) Defense Command told Robert C. Gardener (ex USAF) in 1953: “We have stack of reports of flying saucers. We take them seriously, when you consider we have lost many men and planes trying to intercept them.” Leonard Springfield, the former Air Force intelligence officer was told by a reliable source in the 1950s that the “Air Force was losing about a plane a day to the UFOs.”Stringfield was reliably informed. According to US Defense Department figures, from 1952 until the end of October 1956, there were 18,662 major accidents of military aircraft, broken down as follows:

Of this astonishing total, most involved fast new jets (such as those scrambled in UFO interceptions), of which 56.2 per cent were found to be caused by pilot error; 8.1 per cent by ground-crew or other personnel failure; 23.4 per cent by failure of parts and equipment in the aircraft; 2.8 per cent by various ‘unsafe conditions’, and –9.5 per cent (1,773) were due to ‘unknown factors’. Thanks to Timothy Good’ book, “Need to Know” P.172 Comments: When I chased a UFO we exceeded the red lined aircraft air speed by 20 knots. In the excitement of the chase it is easy to exceed aircraft capabilities and often some part of the aircraft may fail. Many stories are told of firing missiles and making direct hits on the UFOs that were unharmed only to have them return the fire and destroy the interceptor.
Lt. Chidlaw entered the Air Corps Engineering School at Wright Field, Ohio, and later directed the development of the United States’ original jet engine and jet aircraft. He spent most of his career at Wright Field which established Chidlaw as an expert on materiel, especially aircraft. He became chief of the experimental Engineering Branch, where he monitored the jet engine development. In March 1945, he took command of the Mediterranean Allied Tactical Air Forces and was promoted to major general the next month.
Chidlaw returned to Wright Field in July 1945 as deputy commanding general for operations of what became Air Materiel Command (amc). He was flown to Roswell, New Mexico at the time of the UFO crash announcement in July of 1947. In October 1947, he became deputy commanding general of amc, with rank of lieutenant general, and full commander on September 1, 1949. General Chidlaw was given the task to evaluate UFO sightings and his group agreed the phenomena was real and approved the Research and Development Board. It is likely his team attempted to back engineer and develop their own flying discs.
Summary: A VERY large, Boomerang-shaped object tracked across the sky in a NE direction just after full dark.
I wish I had not waited months to reports this, but until recently did not know who to report it to. I saw a television program that described your field researchers and I liked that your set scientific and observational standards. I do not like wild speculation and absurd conjectures as I often see in deranged programs like UFO Hunters or whatever it is called. I like mysteries to be approached rationally. This brings me back to the night of August 11, 2010. I have long wondered if anyone else had reported anything for that night. Soon after the event, I posted an oblique statement on my Facebook page “Did anyone else see that?” simply so I would not forget the date and time. I do not jump to conclusions, but I have also failed to find a prosaic explanation for the event. There were two other people with me who saw the strange object. I will leave their names off of here for the time being. [They live nearby, but I have not asked their permission to include them in this report.] We were standing in my driveway just after full dark. It was likely between 8 and 9pm. Checking the time for full darkness at the time of the year should some up with a very close approximate time. There was a bright moon shinning in the in the southeast quadrant of the sky. I think if it were not for that, we would have seen nothing. I was facing north toward my companions as we stood there talking. The evening was pleasant and it had grown dark. It was not unusual for us to stand outside and talk although we were about to say goodnight. One of my companions was looking behind me and saw it first. She made a gasping noise or other sound while looking into the sky behind me. I turned to see what she was looking at. We live about 20 miles from Philadelphia International Airport in the town of Richwood, NJ and frequently have large numbers of commercial airliners circling overhead. I expected something of this sort. What I saw was very different. I turned to look south and saw it almost immediately or at least the impression of it. I also said a rather surprising swear word which I would not normally use in this company. The object was moving quickly in a east-north-east direction [toward the Delaware River and Chester, PA] and at first it was just a suggestion of movement because it was black against black. It was simply a different shape of black flying with no lights at all. The moonlight caught on the shape and revealed it as the sharp-angled boomerang without further detail to the surface. It annoys me to report it as an angular boomerang shape because I know there have been many other reports like that. It was very large in the sky. Much larger than the commercial airliners we see daily on their approach to Philadelphia. I do not know what altitude the circling airliners are at this point in their approach, but that is probably not too difficult to find out. Their windows are easily visible. This was far larger than those. There were no airplanes in sight at the time of the event.
The trouble is that for it to be that size it would have to have been either unusually low and close to us or farther away and unbelievably vast in size. The object cruised quickly by without the slightest sound or change in speed or altitude. I hoped it would pass in front of the moon, but unfortunately it moved “beneath” where the moon was and was quickly lost to view in the dark. It was moving fast but without knowing the distance I would not guess at its speed. It was gone before there was much chance of further reaction. I turned to my companions and we were all equally dumbfounded. There was nothing more to do except head inside. I typed the note on Facebook so I would not forget, but I also had hoped someone else might say something. It was a long shot. No one else reported anything.
I have seen stealth bombers flying in the desert and they are huge. This object was at LEAST that large, but I felt it was larger still. The stealth was my best suspect as I racked my brain, but it does not make sense. For a stealth to be that large, it would have to be too close. Why would a bomber be flying so low in a densely populated area? A stealth can easily fly above local air traffic. Flying without lights would be extremely dangerous around this crowded airspace even if you were training the crew in radar evasion. NOTE: The above image is CGI.
I have seen flying saucers since august 18, 1980. This was my 8th UFO experience, but I have never seen orbs, only spaceships. These were orbs, I think, not what I usually experience. I first noticed the object before dinner, but I just blew it off. We had dinner on the beach, overlooking the water. My wife noticed it after dinner, when we went to leave. I immediately saw a large bright light again, much brighter than the first time, approximately 45 earlier. I knew immediately what it was, a UFO. We just purchased a camera a few days before, and we went to the waters edge, and started filming. My wife did. The object, there were 4-5 of them, were extremely bright, varying in size from a pin head to a quarter. I estimate about half a mile to a mile away from shoreline. They moved independently, and went from bright small in size, to immensely bright and huge, maybe the size of a quarter. They moved up and down, remained stationary, and one of them went over land when big, over I would assume sandy hook area, 10-15 miles north of where we were.
There were 6-7 people on the beach watching and filming as well. It was amazing to see. My feelings…very excited, very controlled. I wanted to attract them, and stood in the light than ran across the water and did jumping jacks to attract it. It did not respond. The objects got extremely big and bright maybe 3-4 times. These actions unfortunately were not captured on video of photos. I told my wife to take video, to make sure we had it on video. I spoke to my cousin on the cell phone throughout part of the experience, because he knows of all the things I have experienced, and I was describing the scene to him as it happened. I am very lucky to have experienced what I have throughout my life. We never lost sight of the objects. We left after about an hour or so. We saw amazing detail of 2 orbs around a tremendous bright round light, sometimes two bright circles of light. Unfortunately, I do not know how to submit this to you right now, but will have my wife do so in the next few days to a week. You will be amazed, or maybe not, since this is probably common but it is amazing, and I would like an explanation as to what this is. I believe it is extra terrestrial. My wife thinks it was secret military craft, but she also said she did not know what it was. She does not believe in UFO’S, since she has never seen one, but then, she could not explain what we saw. KEN’S NOTE: This area has been very active with sightings over the years. Ft Monmouth is nearby and has a two mile dock that protrudes out into the bay. Military ships can be seen there often. The bay leads to the Varrazano Bridge and eventually Manhattan. Check it-out on Google Earth.
