The truth may be out and about in Northland with numerous reports of strange phenomena above the region – from curious lights, mysterious craft and even a possible alien landing, and video footage being sent overseas for expert analysis.
Suzanne Hansen, network director for Ufocus NZ research, which collates UFO/UAP (unidentified flying object/unidentified aerospace phenomena) reports, said she had received 237 such sightings so far this year, with many from Northland.
Ms Hansen said there had been a significant increase in sightings involving descriptions of actual objects (not aircraft) as opposed to “lights in the sky” sightings.
“Several of these have involved the sighting of entities in conjunction with an object,” she said.
However, president of the Northland Astronomical Society Terry Hickey said there were sound explanations for what people thought they had seen. Mr Hickey said he believed there was alien life “out there” but that it had yet to make it to Earth.
But Ms Hansen said specific objects have been described, with reports coming from scientists, pilots, aviation personnel and police.
She said a “top scientist” had reported seeing an object land in an isolated part of Northland, that was “definitely not an aircraft or like anything else he had seen.”
“In these cases, we have withheld most of these reports to see if corroborative reports come in. This has been the case in each of these cases, with corroborative sightings of identical objects coming in from different parts of the country,” Ms Hansen said.
“We have also had a number of reports from people who said they had previously been sceptics, but have had to change their perspectives having had a sighting themselves that they could not explain. There are several photos and video footage being examined overseas by analysts.”
Most of the reports this year have been from the BOP/central North Island, Auckland and Northland, Canterbury and Manawatu, with the balance spread around the country.
In March 1994, myself and fellow co-worker carpool together to work in Brighton Michigan. The week that this incident happened it was her time to drive. So usually when the other would drive we would take a nap. So that was what I was doing when I wake up to a whirling noise sounding like womb, womb, womb and the full size van with camper on top was spinning around and around. But it seem as though we were still and it was spinning around. I also notice that there was a bright white cloud surrounding us. It was bright like a light. I also observed my co-worker was acting like she was in a trans of some kind looking straight forward and when she would turn the steering wheel from left to right the van would move side to side as though no ground underneath. Then I blacked out, next thing I remember is coming down from the sky in an incline at top speed, very fast toward on going traffic. Then all of a sudden we stop. Neither one of us moved out seats, we were still. So I look back to see if we could bag up and go the way we were going or go back to the last exit and turn around and head to work. But when I looked back it was as though we were in a huge football field lit up with very bright colors. reds, yellows, green, and orange. keep in mind this happen around 4 am and it is pitch dark at this time in the winter. So we decided to go to the last exit we had just past and turn around and head to work since we were not harmed. So we did during this time there was a lot of traffic, no one stopped to help or the incident didn’t stop traffic at all. It was as though no one saw us. Well when we got to our jobs we were 1 hour late. We left in plenty time for work so we should have been late but what bothered me the most is how some co-workers that follow the same highway saw the craft. Several eye witnesses said it was massive. I put 2 and 2 together and realize that we were in it and the strangest thing of this whole incident is that I became pregnant with my oldest son who is now 17 years old. I spotted an unusual aircraft on Thursday, September 6, 2012, approximately 9:45 PM in Austin, Texas. I was traveling West on the 2222 and had just crossed over the 360 when I spotted the aircraft traveling E/NE. The aircraft was at first was in the distance, flying very close to the hills and I noticed it was an abnormal size and had strange lights for an airplane. It was also moving extremely slow. As I continued on the 2222 the aircraft flew closer to the 2222 and I realized it was flying extremely low and the slow speed became more apparent. It passed over my car and I observed it was a solid triangular shape with brilliant green and red lights along the outside of the triangle. I cannot recall the exact pattern of the lights. What struck me the most odd and why I am reporting this is because of the triangle shape. It was a solid triangle, with no visible wings. I lost sight of the object because it passed over me, continuing NE and I was heading home, directly West. I am not a UFO believing person, but I this was so unusual and thought to myself, “I think I just saw a UFO!” I did some research on military planes and could find nothing to matched what I saw, unless of course it was a secret plane. GROUP OF FRIENDS WITNESS A LARGE TRIANGLE OVER NORTH CAROLINA

My wife and I pulled into a wide open field where 3 of our friend were hanging out. When we got there they were all saying they saw something huge fly over a few minutes earlier. To our amazement, either it came back or another was following because it came over again while we all 5 were there. It was triangle, very large, maybe about the size of a football field with reddish orange lights. The brightest was the two at the front with 4 to 6 more lights of the same color but not as bright. It made absolutely no noise at all. I know it was huge because it blacked out large areas of the stars behind it as it passed over. It silently flew out of sight over the horizon. We are all close friends and could not believe what we saw. We stayed up most of the night in total disbelief, talking about it. We have talked about it for years. I have seen things like the lights over Phoenix several months after we saw it and was amazed at the similarity. I will never forget it as long as I live! I want to know what we saw that night. Me and my two boys were throwing the football around at our neighborhood park and noticed a sphere like object hovering stationary up in the air. I began looking at it really closely because it kind of resembled a weather balloon so i was waiting for it to float away BUT it never did. About 10 minutes later we noticed that it finally moved from its location overhead towards the west or south west area. From there we continued throwing the football around and then noticed that it was no longer a spherical shape but looked more like a “balloon that has just popped”. Just then a ball of light came out of the object (my son said that the ball of light circled the object once) and hovered next to it – finally the first object then itself became a ball of light similar to the one it let out. Now both objects resembled two distant stars in the sky. They gradually got further and further away (heading west/south west) until we could no longer view them.

We were driving down a country road. I was the passenger. It was right above our car pacing us. If I didn’t look up, I would have never seen it for it was silent. My friend was driving and I told him to look and when he saw it he took off. It followed us easily. We saw a farmhouse and my friend skidded to a stop right in the road and ran up to the farm house and banged on the doors and windows. I got out of the car and started bouncing rocks off it. It was only 10 or 15 ft above the car. My friend scared the lady in the house, so I told her to look out the window. She said o.m.g. and came out and joined us. It was spinning counter clockwise. A hatch opened up on the bottom half and it had that turquoise colored light inside. Kept spinning slowly. Started to eject a cloud as it rotated and it clung to the ship. Wind didn’t move it. When the cloud finally disapated the ship was gone. Never saw it leave. Seemed like about 20 minutes but we lost about 3 or 4 hours. Lots of details. So close. I will never forget it. I wasn’t afraid at all. It was amazing. We all weren’t having the same halucination. You can’t bounce rocks off something that wasn’t there. That I know, it wasn’t Venus. I was laying in bed with my dog by my feet. My bed was under a window. The neighborhood was quiet and it was dark out late at night in an suburban neighborhood. I saw this yellowish ornage light. It was thick and blanketed everything. I could not see through the light but it covered the complete view from my bedroom window. It did not affect my eyes like the sun does. I also heard a strange humming while watching the light trying to figure out what it was. I never saw anything like it before. I am not certain how much time passed but it was not seconds nor hours. Maybe 20 mins or so as I was stunned by this light display. I was scared and closed my wndow as I peered out into the light. The light disapeared and everything was in view again like normal. I could see the house across the street and see the street lights lit up dimly as always. Then I heard a noise at my other window just 8 feet from my bed. I looked as my dog began to growl (he is protective and a watch dog). He went to rise from the bed and suddelny froze. He was frozen stiff, just his eyes could move and I could see his breathing was heavy as he growled but stiff as a statue. I panicked and looked back to the window where I heard the noise. I remained in my bed by my dogs side. I saw a hand coming through the screen as it must have punched a hole through the screen. I had the window slightly opened as always. The hand was greyish and smooth with long fingers and strange bulbus joints and finger tips. I was terrified as the screen was then pulled out the window lifted further. A creature craweled into my now opened window and crouched in the window sill stairing at me. My dog still fozen and growling I knew the creature had some kind of power to do this to my dog. It was a small creature greyish all over smooth skin all over with large almond like eyes, black eyes that protruded they loooked like glass almost. No pupils just pitch black eyes. The head was the typical alien head as people say they have seen the tear drop head larger than expected in proportion to the small body. long arms very thin. The feet were long and it began to climb down from my window slowly as it stared at me and it never blinked. I think I was scared stiff I dont know if it paralized. I think I was just scared stiff. I thought of running for the door but it was across from the window the creature was in. I would have never made it past the creature to get to the door and I coudn’t carry my dog to help him as he is a 70 lb rottie pit bull. After the creature began to clinmd down from the window I don’t remember anything until I awoke in the moring with everything normal and my dog was normal again and fine. I ran to the window remembering the nights events and the window was raised all the way which I never do. I know I didn’t dream this. The screen was laying on the driveway below my window. I ran downstairs to the driveway to look for the hole in the screen and sure enough the small punched through hole from the creature was there. A day later I noticed a raised bump in my wrist. The skin was white on the raised area. It is rounded and small. I wondered if something was implanted in me or if I was scarred by the creature. On the night of March 13, 1975, many sightings of bright aerial objects were made in the vicinity of Ashland, Wisconsin, which is located on Lake Superior. Our investigation indicates that several policemen observed airborne objects which they could not identify, but not much more than the “flying light” variety. However, the most interesting of the reports comes from the Philip N. Baker family of Mellen, Wisconsin, some 20 miles south of Ashland. Fifteen-year-old Jane Baker had gone outside to take the cats to the garage where they are housed for the night, and was just at the garage door when she heard “strange high-toned noises.” She turned around and looked up at the hill to the north and saw an object apparently sitting on the road into Mellen. The whole hill was lit up, she said. She described it as a silvery disc-shaped object with a domed top which gave off a yellowish-white glow. Around its midsection were located red and green lights which were flashing on and off. Jane put the cats in the garage and went back into the house to get her father, who was sitting on the couch with his shoes off, watching television. The family is certain of the time because the “Harry-O” show had just started. Jane told her father that “there was a thing on the hill up the road.” Mr. Phillips put on his shoes and they both went outside to look at it. At this point the glow was subsiding and the flashing lights had also turned out, and the noise was gone also. However, there was a square lighted area in the middle of it. This area, which appeared to be an opening, had the same yellow-white glow that the top of the object had had earlier when Jane viewed it alone. The two then walked to position three and at this time noticed a metal-on-metal banging sound. They then went back into the house where Mr. Phillips put in a telephone call to the Undersheriff. While he was talking on the phone they heard a loud boom and when Jane looked out the window the object was gone. During this period of time, the object was pointed out to Mrs. Phillips, who viewed it from a window in the house, and three other members of the family, 11-year-old Jeff, 12-year-old John and 16-year-old Montgomery also got a look at the object. The next morning, Jane went outside to see if she could find any traces from the previous night. She looked over toward the swamp near her home and saw the same or a similar object again — only this time there were no flashing lights or glow — but the shape and color were the same. It was hovering over some evergreen trees. Jane went back into the house to put on heavier clothing, then went back out, taking the family dog with her. She was proceeding toward the evergreens when the dog gave a big yelp and started to whine and paw at her ears. Then the dog became completely still. Jane says she didn’t hear anything, but carried the dog into the house. When she came back out again, the object was gone. Later in the morning she and Monty and John walked to the spot where the object had been seen the night before. They noted that there was a round area on the road where the snow was “fluffed up.” There were tire tracks over the area where a car had passed after the object had left, but there were also bicycle tracks leading up to it, then taking up again on the other side. These were tracks made by one of the boys riding his bicycle the morning before. The “fluffed up” area apparently obliterated parts of the bicycle tracks. The condition of the snow is a new phenomenon where UFO landings are concerned. We can hypothesize that it was a result of the propulsion system of the UFO but it could also have been a deliberate attempt to cover any tracks made by whoever or whatever was making the banging noise. All of the Phillips family agree that the object was on the ground for a total of no less than 10 minutes. The investigation of that particular night is ongoing because there seems to be more witnesses in the area who have yet to be interviewed and there may be corroborating witnesses in other homes in the area. ALIEN CRAFT SHADOWING AN AIR FORCE C-141 NEAR ANDREWS AFB.
7-18-12 SPRINGFIELD VIRGINIA
Approximately 6 p.m. I was on my patio watching for aircraft (I can observe approach/departure for DCA, DUL, Andrews AFB, Davidson AAF, and Manassas Regional) and enjoy identifying both aircraft and birds (we have eagles, hawks, and vultures.) My patio faces common ground and affords a relatively good view of the sky facing north. Weather was clear, visibility about 10 miles and there were originally no aircraft to be seen. Looking to the NE toward DCA I noticed a dark spec which at first appeared to be an eagle in the distance gliding sideward as they do when hunting. The spec traveled toward me (NE to SW) faster than eagles do and as it approched it began a long smooth turn to its left (toward SE) and I could see it was a soundless dark object (despite it being in direct sunlight) shaped like an oblong “seed” with the narrow point at the rear and the blunt end forward…..apparent size comparable to a grain of rice held at arms length. I followed its turn and then heard the sound of an aircraft approaching from behind me (from SW to NE) which had been shielded by the building behind me. It was clearly an Air Force C-141 which we see a lot of around here. The object continued its turn and fell in trail behind the C-141 at a distance of about 1/4 to 1/2 the length of the C-141 and about the same speed and altitude. I estimated the C-141 to be at about 2000, 180-200 knots clean (no flaps or wheels down). I followed the progress of both until they disappeared behind a nearby treeline. FOOTNOTE: We recently(metro Washington DC) had USAF/Dept. Homeland Defense exercises in which fighters (F-15s F-16s) “intercepted” USAF C-141s. I observed one of those intercepts in about the same location in the sky and I guarantee you a fighter wouldnt position himself in the bigger planes turbulence as this object I observed did. Also, the USAF fighters, while painted a dark flat gray were clearly and instantly identifiable as fighters. My observation of the USAF exercise and the object I couldnt identify were a month apart. There were no exercises announced for the date in question. NOTE: The above image is a rendering.
We were walking on the beach when we happened to look up and see two large, bright orange/yellow circles in the air. These shapes were unlike anything we had ever seen. They hovered over the coastline for a few minutes (3-4). Then one began to ascend, fairly slowly. The circle got smaller and smaller until it eventually looked like a pinhead, which then disappeared out of sight. Then the second circle did the same thing. There were no drastic movements. The discs hovered and then ascended in a slightly angled line straight up and out of sight. The objects stood out because of their size and color. I felt confident that the there was no logical explanation for the sighting except a UFO. I was not afraid at the time, but very curious. HUSBAND AND WIFE SPOT STRANGE OBJECT OVER STONE HARBOR NEW JERSEY

I was relaxing after a day at the beach, sitting on my deck enjoying the view as the sun was low and near setting. As I was looking in the Southwestern sky, over the Mainland, I noticed an object that I nearly dismissed as a plane. The orange-ish glow emanating from the craft reminded me of a sighting I had a year earlier. It moved like a normal aircraft, but as I focused on it, I realized it was unusually “black”. It appeared to have a flame-like propellent that eventually disappeared. The dot of black remained visible in the sky until it disappeared. within a minute, my husband joined me and I excitedly told him about what I saw and almost immediately saw another craft on the same flight pattern. He went inside to get our binoculars. I asked him to describe what he was seeing, as it was a great distance away. He described the same flame and black circle. It appeared to be moving away, on an angle and the flame disappeared again. I was unable to see it with the naked eye, but he could see the black shape, it changed from being solid and circular to “stretched out sideways and up and down. After it “morphed” a few times, it simply disappeared. All this happened while the sky was still light. No other foreign objects were seen after that, but a lot of normal air traffic, easily identified by their flashing lights etc… I was excited to see the same kind of anomaly in the sky and my first thought about the disappearance was a possible “worm hole”. I believe it is a natural way of time-space travel. I did not have any fear of this sighting, just very glad for the “shared” experience with my husband. NOTE: The above image is a rendering.
