I have been interested in the moon ever since I saw the Moon landing on TV in 1969. I know that President Kennedy promised that we would have a man on the Moon by the end of the decade. I feel this statement pressured NASA to make this happen but eventually NASA realized that it could not be done. Russia has already beat us into space with the 1957 Sputnik mission and Russian also had the first man into space when they sent up Yuri Gagarin in 1961 to circle the earth. The United States was way behind and we had to do something special to beat those Russians. There is much evidence that tried to prove that we did not land on the Moon but yesterday I discovered the one NASA web site that has been eluding me for years. Nasa seems to have over 100 web sites and finding the one web site with the hi-definition images was the challenge. I do believe we have orbited the Moon in the past and have taken many photos of the Moons surface but landing there in 1969 through 1972 with the Apollo missions was impossible because we did not have the technology to do it. Safety was suppose to be the number one priority and I feel this stopped Nasa from actually landing on the Moon. I feel we do have the technology to go to the Moon now and I am sure we have been there many times over the last couple decades. I hope you remember the ” Wizard of Oz ” movie back in 1939. The special effects were perfect. We could of easily filmed the Moon landing on a stage built special for the filming of the Moon Landing. If Hollywood could achieve the special effects on the Wizard of Oz then, it would of been very simple to achieve the special effects for the Moon landing and Moon walks by the Astronauts.

The resolution is adequate for viewing but don’t expect too much. I’m changing my review to 5 stars. There are a few negatives but not enough to down grade it. I’m not a very sophisticated electronics consumer. If I buy something that works when I press the green button, I’m generally content. But I’m sure other reviews with more technical sophistication can be more helpful than I can be on that score. Ideal for families with children, many of the DVD portable systems come complete with two separate screens that can easily be mounted to the back of your car seats for convenience. Make children feel special and keep them from fighting over who gets to hold the screen. You can also install flip-down screens that fold back up when the player is not being used to increase visibility for the driver and to prevent damage to

I wasn’t really that psyched about purchasing it. Reviews are mixed. But after scouring the internet, I found out that, wow, it’s really impossible to find a portable blu ray player! Sure, you can find portable players left and right, but not blu ray players. This was actually the only one I could find. Also, while I was busily trying to make my mind up, the price suddenly shot up from $229 to $235! I have not tried the USB feature but that is a bonus that I will want to try out. I have not connected it to our home theater system but will report back after I have tried it. I like the size of the screen. It’s pretty decent for a portable player. Definitely bigger (and higher) than my old player by about an inch or so. I tried several Blu-ray and regular DVD disks. The screen isn’t very high resolution at 800 x 480 (my reason for taking one star off). I thought the Sony supplied description was a bit misleading. The resolution is adequate for viewing but don’t expect too much. I’m changing my review to 5 stars. There are a few negatives but not enough to down grade it. I’m not a very sophisticated electronics consumer. If I buy something that works when I press the green button, I’m generally content. But I’m sure other reviews with more technical sophistication can be more helpful than I can be on that score. Ideal for families with children, many of the DVD portable systems come complete with two separate screens that can easily be mounted to the back of your car seats for convenience. Make children feel special and keep them from fighting over who gets to hold the screen. The outer case resembles a carbon-fiber finish, although it does show fingerprints. The sound quality is very good. With my old player, I had to use headphones, but this sounds excellent. I’m glad that it has a remote because the dvd model that came before it does not have a remote. I just wish that philips would make a tv tuner that you can connect to the device so you can watch local hd channels on the go. I bought this to replace my old Phillips portable blu ray player. I wasn’t really that psyched about purchasing it. Reviews are mixed. But after scouring the internet, I found out that, wow, it’s really impossible to find a portable blu ray player! Sure, you can find portable players left and right, but not blu ray players. This was actually the only one I could find. Also, while I was busily trying to make my mind up, the price suddenly shot up from $229 to $235! I have not tried the USB feature but that is a bonus that I will want to try out. I have not connected it to our home theater system but will report back after I have tried it. I like the size of the screen. It’s pretty decent for a portable player. Definitely bigger (and higher) than my old player by about an inch or so. I tried several Blu-ray and regular DVD disks. The screen isn’t very high resolution at 800 x 480 (my reason for taking one star off). I thought the Sony supplied description was a bit misleading. The resolution is adequate for viewing but don’t expect too much. I’m changing my review to 5 stars. There are a few negatives but not enough to down grade it. I’m not a very sophisticated electronics consumer. If I buy something that works when I press the green button, I’m generally content. But I’m sure other reviews with more technical sophistication can be more helpful than I can be on that score. The Sony DVD player arrived today and I checked it over thoroughly to maker sure it worked properly in advance of our trip. When I un-boxed it I was surprised and the quality of this unit. The outer case resembles a carbon-fiber finish, although it does show fingerprints. The sound quality is very good. With my old player, I had to use headphones, but this sounds excellent. The swivel screen will allow us to fold it flat and insert it into the “VideoSecu Portable Adjustable DVD CD Player Mount for Car Headrest- Black Color MDC20 M25” which also arrived today. They fit together quite well. I haven’t mounted it in the car yet. There are a few other players that look interesting but some don’t play Blu-ray disks, and some don’t have the swivel screen. In the end I couldn’t find another equal or better unit, so I’m ordering a second one of these. Sorry to see the price has actually increased about $40 in three years. There are a lot of user controls in a Sony format similar to the PS3. Screen Settings, Audio Settings, Parental Control, and more are included. It is a well equipped DVD player. There are two Remote Sensors so the remote can function if the player is rotated or even closed with the screen hidden for home use when the HDMI connector is supplying output to a large screen. There is a Hold button on the bezel which locks all the buttons on the player; a great feature so our 2 year old grandson can’t mess with playback. When the unit is in “hold” the remote still works. I’m glad that it has a remote because the dvd model that came before it does not have a remote. I just wish that philips would make a tv tuner that you can connect to the device so you can watch local hd channels on the go. I bought this to replace my old Phillips portable blu ray player. I wasn’t really that psyched about purchasing it. Reviews are mixed. But after scouring the internet, I found out that, wow, it’s really impossible to find a portable blu ray player! Sure, you can find portable players left and right, but not blu ray players. This was actually the only one I could find. Also, while I was busily trying to make my mind up, the price suddenly shot up from $229 to $235! I have not tried the USB feature but that is a bonus that I will want to try out. I have not connected it to our home theater system but will report back after I have tried it. I like the size of the screen. It’s pretty decent for a portable player. Definitely bigger (and higher) than my old player by about an inch or so. I tried several Blu-ray and regular DVD disks. The screen isn’t very high resolution at 800 x 480 (my reason for taking one star off). I thought the Sony supplied description was a bit misleading. The resolution is adequate for viewing but don’t expect too much. I’m changing my review to 5 stars. There are a few negatives but not enough to down grade it. I’m not a very sophisticated electronics consumer. If I buy something that works when I press the green button, I’m generally content. But I’m sure other reviews with more technical sophistication can be more helpful than I can be on that score. Ideal for families with children, many of the DVD portable systems come complete with two separate screens that can easily be mounted to the back of your car seats for convenience. Make children feel special and keep them from fighting over who gets to hold the screen.
