NIGHT TIME CLOSE ENCOUNTER IN TINTON FALLS NEW JERSEY
SEPTEMBER 1988 TINTON FALLS NEW JERSEY
In September of 1988 I was driving home from Oceanport, New Jersey to East Brunswick, New Jersey. The trip was about 45 miles and this occurred at 3:00 in the morning EST. I had just gotten on New Jersey Highway 18 in Tinton Falls, NJ and a ball of light appeared in front of my car approx. 250 feet ahead and at a height of approx 25 feet off the road. I know it was not the moon since I could see the moon out of my drivers side window to the South. I was driving roughly in a westerly direction. The ball of light was larger than my open hand held at arms length. I opened the window and heard no sound other that my car riding down the road. I even thought it may be a figment of my imagination after working 13 hours. To verify it was not something stupid like the headlights hitting a bank of fog I turned my head lights off and the light stayed in position and never brightened or dimmed. I became a bit nervous and decided to turn off the highway on to some back roads. I made a right turn and the light stayed right with me. I then made several more right and left turns and the light kept it’s same position in front of me. I finally went back onto the highway and the light was still ahead of me. I was nearing the end of my drive which took about 15 minutes longer than normal due to all the turns I was making on the back roads to loose this thing. About 5 miles from my home I was just passing a church named St. Thomas Catholic Church in Old Bridge, NJ and the light shot up at ultra high speed and was gone. That night was a positively clear night with perfect visibility. NOTE: The above image is a rendering.
