I left my home at 7:45 am for breakfast at Country Times Market. As I approached the intersection of cr162 and sr49 I saw what appeared to be a motorist in distress. Travelling west I continued on cr162 300 ft west of intersection where a pick-up was along side the road with crates piled on the ground behind it. Approaching I noticed another pick-up in front of the first with crates stacked behind it also. I asked a fellow standing by the crates if he needed some assistance, he advised me “NO”, that they were there to release racing pigeons. Intrigued, I asked if I may stay and observe. They made a bit of small talk as they gave the birds some water and prepared to release them. They allowed me to get on one knee at the front of the cages as they opened the doors, as they opened them, all the birds,(over 400) leaving and taking flight sounded like thunder as they got busy heading for Detroit. The cages faced north, the pigeons followed a trajectory of Northeast beating a straight line to Detroit. most of the pigeons were fast airborn but there were a few stragglers. I watched them as the main body of the group were getting smaller and smaller in the distance. As I saw the very last glimpse of them, glint in the sky made me turn my head about nearly due north, not quite, to my amazement I saw a large “silver”, better yet descript “polished chrome” sphere hovering in the sky. I was so shocked I could not speak or move for about a minute or minute and a half. The fellows that released the pigeons were loading the trucks and hadnt seen a damn thing. I called their attention to the sphere and as I regained site of it, it vanished in the wind. The most remarkable thing that ever happened to me was fleeting but most shocking. Shocking to the point that I could not speak or move.
