A fast-moving object that then slowed down was seen and videoed by a woman in Portageville, Missouri, according to testimony in Case 124674. Reproduced above is a digital image of the anomalous object. The witness was in her house when she saw the object
outside at 6:40 p.m. on August 27, 2022, and the incident began.
In CMS Form 1, the reporting witness’s combined short and detailed summations of the event are as follows: “Saw a bright light moving very fast then slowly. I was able to go through video, and what I captured I believe is unknown.”
Missouri MUFON State Section Director Lynne Mann closed this case as Unknown Aerial Vehicle. In her summary of the witness interview, Mann writes: Witness has had an uptick in objects in the area for the last two years. Witness feels that this is perhaps due to their added attention to the skies on nights when sleep is interrupted by pets wanting out. Also, that the passing of their parents (that they were taking care of) may have given them the time to notice more what was happening around them. Witness is interested in staying in touch and in the information on UFO activity. They have a website that they call “Yeppers,” where they post the videos and pictures, they take. They are staying in touch with this investigator with any future videos, which will be added to this case as further evidence.
Portageville is a city in New Madrid and Pemiscot counties of Missouri. The population was 3,228 according to the 2010 census.
