APRIL 4, 1966………..MOUNT LAKE TERRACE WASHINGTON
| First I must state, my sighting took place many years ago when I was quite young. I was newly 8 years old. I never told my family! My sighting has been on my mind, close to constantly now, for these last several months. The UFO is still very vivid including the sound it made. So I finally decided to report my UFO. It was not a dream, and it greatly affected my life’s interests. At that time, in our neighborhood, there had been a Texaco Gas Station and they had a very tall, lit sign, that always lit our yard and my room, every night. I considered it to be my permanent, personal, nightlight and I could see everything with out turning my own light on. It was the middle of a clear night. A very odd sound woke me. It was a soft, metal rubbing on metal sound, I had never heard before, nor have I since. I opened my eyes and sat up in bed. I looked around my room, nothing out of place, nothing that should not be there. I went to my window, and saw nothing. Something whispered in my ear to look out the window and straight up. So I did! I looked straight up, just as a giant, metal Frisbee was moving out from over our house! I was in awe! Fascinated! Plus very curious! But I knew, of course, it was not a Frisbee! It moved very slowly, still making that soft sound. As it moved forward toward the west, I could see some wide pipes running across the underside of the bottom of this thing and I said to myself they must be for water and gasoline. There was no visible exhaust. Nothing! I did think the thing was floating, but moving somehow, so it must have a motor. Is that what the pipes on the bottom were for? It seemed as if I could reach out and touch this thing! I wanted to, as it was that close! I guess it was only about 20 feet above our roof, if that. As I was quite young, that measurement came to me later. But it was very low, as it moved forward, very, very slowly, until it was directly over our next door neighbor’s house. That took several minutes. But once it was completely out from over our house, I could see how it was turning. Plus it was huge! At least that is what my young self thought! The Craft was shaped like two gigantic dinner plates with a very wide belt separating the two plates. The upper plate was upside down over the center belt and lower plate. Both plates, or decks, turned constantly and slowly. The top turned one direction, the bottom, in the other! I thought that the constant turning was how it could fly and float. The center belt did not turn. The upper deck had two narrow, wide windows next to each other, back lit with a dull white light. At one point I could see the dark shadows of what I thought were two people! I remember thinking they were really lucky getting to ride in that ship! Those figures were not constantly there. The craft was several shades of grey and silver, the two decks were a dull, dark, charcoal grey, the center belt was a lighter almost shiney light grey, or silver and it was not one long piece of metal. It had sections to it and there were grain markings to the metal, as if left by giant paint brushes. The ship stayed over our neighbor’s house for quite a long time. The UFO was larger than their house was wide! Their house was also a split level home similar to ours. The Craft was also very low over their house just like it must have been over ours. It continued turning both directions the entire time. All of a sudden a straight, wide beam of light turned on under the ship! It surprised me because I thought that light would light up the whole roof of the house, but it did not! I also thought that someone saw me watching and now they were going to look for me using their flashlights! As far as I know that did not happen. That light did not light up ANY portion of the roof! It looked like it cut through the roof and shone right into the house! It was really odd! Then the light was moving around the roof but still not lighting the roof! It then stopped moving around and after about two minutes that light switched off! A few minutes later, the ship started to move higher as it stayed level. Once it reached a certain height, it began to tilt at an angle! It then rose up higher, leveled off flat again and staying level, it rose up and was gone with great speed! However when it finally left, it flew off at an angle with the ship staying leveled, flat, with both top and bottom still slowly turning in opposite directions. The big difference that occured as it was leaving, the center belt had white lights come on, every other panel! I have always felt very fortunate to have witnessed that craft!
