The guard, who was not named, was the only person on duty at the train station in Dayangqi Railway Station in north-eastern China. The small town on the border with southern Russia is quiet at night, so when the unusual object came into view it really stood out. The guard said: “I saw something flashing in the distance at around 8:10pm.”
