JULY 2, 2020 ………………..NOTTAWA ONTARIO CANADA
On July 1st, 2020, my adult children had returned home with friends and partners, settling into our country home for an extra-long Canada Day Weekend. The first evening the kids were all excited seeing each other and they were too loud, so I went out for air. Being in the country, the skies are clear, being a lifelong amateur astronomer means I know what I am seeing. A large bright light hovered due south. It did not travel in any direction. I even went and got the kids to see it. It didn’t move, blink or do anything but be super bright. I took some photos, but they show stars and a round ball. Nothing exciting. The next day, July 2nd, another cloudless beautiful summer day, and I take the dog and my 23-year-old daughter for a walk down sideroad 33/34, my normal route with the dog.
It is 4pm in the afternoon, in the country where there are no planes etc. My daughter had just graduated university so we took the walk to discuss her work and future etc. As Meg was talking, the dog was paying no attention, but as I turn to my right so facing Meg a bit more direct while she speaks, I see it over her head and said “holy shit Meg, turn to your right slow and look up”. At first she didn’t see it but before I could point she said “Oh my God! Let’s get the hell outta here NOW!”. Ha ha. I knew she saw it. It was a sphere, grey/silver in colour. It was about 75 feet in the air (tree top) and about 150 feet due south from where we were standing. It appeared between 10-15 feet round. It was motionless and silent at all times, looked close enough I could have hit it with a rock. The surface looked very smooth, but then we noticed it had cloud like objects doing what appeared to be surface rotations.
These clouds were rose/pink, blue/green. Very subtle but very pretty. The sphere seemed to ‘glow’ with a halo around the outer edge, and after a few minutes we noticed, it had started to brighten and dim giving the impression of a pulse, when I saw no lights that were even making the glow. After a few more minutes, I noticed each pulse it appeared dimmer and I actually as it was slowly going invisible before our eyes, I started saying “going, going, almost gone, still going….GONE!” and poof it wasn’t there. Just a cornfield, pine trees, a cloudless sunny sky, a dog and two confused humans on a country sideroad in nowhere. As clear as a bell. So, close I wanted to reach out. Of course, we had been swimming and no cell phones on us. But we both know what we saw and have drawn it and described it and we saw the same events. I can’t say what it was, but it wasn’t normal by any stretch and did things nothing can do. Can’t prove it. But as sure as I write this, it happened just as I described it with no embellishments.
