MAY 11, 2022………….SAINT ANNE-DE-BELLEVUE QUEBEC CANADA
While night fishing in Saint Anne-de-Bellevue, I noticed a large and very bright stationary light in the SW night sky over water. The visibility was excellent and there were no clouds in the sky. There were also no comparable objects near to the object thus making it difficult to determine its actual size relative to anything else. The object was much larger than a star or planet, and it emitted a great deal more light. It resembled a bright, gold-colored stationary orb at first glance. As I continued observing it with the naked eye, there appeared to be a hole in the center of the object (like a doughnut). I took out my camera and filmed a 15 second video of the object. As I magnified it, I was able to confirm that the object did indeed have a hole in the center and it was actively “spinning” on its axis while maintaining its same position in the sky.
The object’s details were difficult to see with the naked eye because it was so bright that its contrast with the night sky made it hard to view the hole, or the spinning motion and/or anything in detail. Both the hole and the spinning motion of the object were obvious when filming and reviewing the video. I don’t know how long it was observable in the night sky. I watched the object maintain its stationary position (while spinning) for approximately 3-4 minutes. When I looked down momentarily and then looked back up, the object was nowhere to be seen. I never saw it disappear. It was just there one moment and gone the next.
