In 1967, two U.S. military air defense radar operators 100 miles apart at Homestead Air Force Base and the Army Air Defense Battery on Key West tracked a total of eight unidentified objects over South Florida for about four hours. A member of the Army Air Defense launch crew said that one object was “moving so fast it was like a meteorite but was flying level. Civilian observers also reported it.
In 1978, after a security specialist attended a lecture on UFOs, he told the speaker that on March 31, 1967, Spanish-speaking operators at Key West Naval Air Station intercepted communications between Cuban air defense radar controllers and two MIG-21 jet fighters. The fighters had been scrambled in response to an unidentified craft approaching Cuba at about 33,000 feet that sped off at nearly Mach 1 (660 mph), according to a report by the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena. The flight leader said the object was a bright metallic sphere with no visible markings or means of propulsion, the report said.
Since it did not respond to radio contact, the fighters were ordered to fire on the object. One reported they were locked on and armed, and then, according to NICAP, the pilot began screaming that the other fighter had exploded and disappeared with no smoke or flame. Cuban radar indicated the object then accelerated, rose to 98,000 feet, and sped toward South America.
I would like to share a couple of photos of the traces found after an abduction took place in a farm house near the city of Campo Grande, about 1300 kilometers northwest of Rio de Janeiro. The event was witnessed by 28 people present in the farm (I was there as well), who saw the big “disc of light” (maybe 50 meters in diameter) hover silently above the house about 100 meters high… then the disc shot down a blueish beam of light on the house and “abducted” a man who was lying on his bed. This was around 8:00 pm and when we broke in the bedroom, there was this intense ozone smell. We were all very amazed to have witnessed such a phenomena. The man who was abducted returned after 48 hours and had a lot to say about his experience (it was his 3rd abduction). Our group has been studying the UFO phenomena in this area for the past 6 years
Two hikers in Calvine, Scotland took this compelling photo using a 35mm camera, of a UFO they spotted in the sky on August 4,1990. The hikers were scared and initially hid behind a tree.
The witnesses reported that a military Harrier aircraft approached the UFO and circled it. That aircraft is also pictured with this UFO craft.
It has been reported that there were originally 5-6 photographs of this incident, but only 1 photograph survives.
Andrew Robinson, who is a senior lecturer in photography at Sheffield Hallam University, conducted an expert photographic analysis of this UFO photograph, and concludes that, “My conclusion is that the object is definitely in front of the camera. It’s not a fake produced in post production, and its placement within the scene appears to be approximately halfway between the foreground fence and the jet in the background.”
On July 2019, six unidentified drones hovered around and “swarmed” up to five U.S. Navy Destroyers off the coast of California. The U.S. Navy is still investigating this incident and has not indicated that the drones are of extraterrestrial origin.
First reported by The Drive by Adam Kehoe and Marc Cecotti, as many as six drones flew around warships off the coast of California, near San Clemente Island. The Drive methodically reconstructed the events that transpired over several days by obtaining ship logs and emails via Freedom of Information Act requests.
The drones were able to fly for 90 minutes or more at night, and matched the ships’ speed. As to the nature of the drones, The Drive stated:
“It is unclear why anyone would operate drones near Navy warships in such a brazen manner. Commercially available drones are not commonly capable of flying for such long durations across great distances with speeds in excess of 45 miles an hour. Based on the pooled data available from the deck logs, we estimate the drones traversed at least 100 nautical miles in the July 14th incident.”
“Furthermore, the drones were able to locate and catch a destroyer traveling at 16 knots in conditions with less than one nautical mile of visibility. Equally baffling, their operators appear to have coordinated at least five to six drones simultaneously. Then there is the question of line-of-sight control, and control methods in general, which make the capabilities described all that much more puzzling.”
These incidents are still under investigation by the U.S. Navy.
Hi Ken: It was a warm, sunny afternoon as I settled down in my fold-out chair with my trusty Nikon P900 camera, ready to see what oddities I could capture. I zoomed in, looking down the Teign Estuary towards Dartmoor, randomly taking bursts of photographs of the idyllic scenery.
I had observed some strange activity in this particular spot before, so it seemed like a good area to focus my attention on. After an hour of watching and photographing this area, and scanning the landscape methodically through my viewfinder, I suddenly saw something bizarre fly into view.
It was a white, translucent, organic-looking thing flying over a field, with the moors in the background. Its organic, biological appearance stood in stark contrast to the angular, metallic craft commonly associated with UFOs that I normally photograph.
I watched it as it moved toward a group of trees, and I took five photographs capturing the strange anomaly. It then flew behind the trees and just disappeared from view. It never emerged from the other side of the trees, so it must have gone down the hillside there.
It was very strange-looking, and I have captured a similar-looking white, organic UFO before, but I am still not sure what I have captured here. It was undulating and seemed to be alive, like some type of biological entity. The photographs were taken at around 7:59 PM on 15th August 2026 at the Teign Estuary, Devon, England. My fiancée and I were driving and he leaned forward looking up so I did the same. He said what is that and I had no idea…we had time to take a good look approaching and this light was BRIGHT I cannot stress that enough. I thought possibly it was a helicopter but it was just far too bright and it just was not making sense as we got closer…I rolled my window down and looked up at it directly above the car. It was difficult to even comprehend what I was seeing…it was a triangle hovering low…as in stationary and not moving at all above us. There were lights at each corner and not flashing like a plane. I looked up at it for enough time to really take it in and what was baffling was there was nothing to take in. I did not see any form of seams or identifying information…no wings, no engine or propulsion methods visible….and zero sound. It was silent.
Of course I am screaming stop the car and he does not do so but I have him turn around and it was just gone. I am so glad someone else saw it with me so I don’t feel like I have lost my mind. I could not distinguish if it was metallic or anything…in was just a dark dark grey almost like a void of color. Not shiny at all. The actual object and the three lights were not visible until looking up underneath the object. The entire time we were moving towards it all we saw was a huge bright white light…I felt kind of like it was pointing right at us but incredibly hard to tell. It was just right over my head suspended and I cannot understand how it was silent. Just a surreal experience all around. We turned on a parallel road to hwy 78 and backtracked at it was gone. It is relatively flat and no sign in any direction of object. No noise like something leaving just nothing. I crawled and stood on top on our suv that’s how unbelievable the entire thing was.
In regards to size this is hard for me to reference because I have zero background in judging distance in the sky but I will give my best estimate. It was LOW but above the treeline…possibly twice as tall as trees or a bit farther up but not much. I am estimating using the points of reference with trees and house size in this report because that is what is familiar to me and I want to give the best answer I can.
As far as we know we did not miss any time and there were no other aircraft or objects close by in the sky. Just the craziest thing by far that’s ever happened and I wish I had a photo but did not even think of until afterwards. NOTE: The above image is C.G.I.
An abduction case from Australia has resulted in what may be the world’s first DNA test of abduction-related biological material.
The intriguing results raise many questions about abduction’s physical nature and illustrate the need for more intensive scientific research on this worldwide mystery.
Peter and Vivian had their first UFO experience in February 1988, a simple sighting of unusual moving lights. But in July of that year, Peter had a deeply disturbing, consciously remembered contact experience that, he says, changed his life. While lying on his bed, he felt something grab his ankles. He suddenly felt numb and paralyzed but remained conscious.
Then he noticed three or four small hooded figures alongside the bed. He experienced telepathic communication with one or more of these beings; he was told to relax and not be afraid because “it would be like last time.” He then saw that they were about to insert a long needle into the side of his head, whereupon he blacked out.
He jolted awake some time later, leaped out of bed and ran into the living room where he found his father and brother apparently dozing. Both he and his brother felt that only 10 minutes had passed since they had last been awake, but they soon realized that an hour or more had passed. The next morning, Peter and Vivian noticed that there was an obvious puncture mark on the side of his head, with a trace of dried blood.
At this time, Peter had never heard of alien abduction. His memories were vivid and alarming, but he could find neither answers nor comfort from friends and acquaintances. Then, some months later, he and Vivian drove by a roadside billboard with an image of Whitley Strieber’s book “Communion,” and they immediately got the book. Peter found numerous details in Strieber’s account that matched his own strange experience.
Peter’s subsequent attempts to connect with local UFO groups and experiencers proved frustrating. Eventually, in April 1993, he resolved to found a new group in Sydney, the UFO Experience Support Association (UFOESA), dedicated to helping people understand and cope with their unusual encounters. He remains the coordinator of that group today.
In July 1992, Peter had the experience that became the focus of this case study. Because the experience had disturbing sexual aspects, Peter was very reticent to talk about it. He first mentioned it to Bill Chalker, one of Australia’s leading researchers, in 1996. He showed Chalker that he had recovered an unusual strand of hair from the encounter.
After thorough testing of the hair samples, the scientists of the Anomaly Physical Evidence Group arrived at a startling conclusion. The thin blond hair, which appeared to have come from a light-skinned caucasian-type woman, could not have come from a normal human of that racial type. Instead, though human, the hair showed five distinctive DNA markers that are characteristic of a rare sub-group of the Chinese Mongoloid racial type. NOTE: The above image is C.G.I.
James Lumley, a trapper, witnessed a bright object fly through the sky and crash in the forest of Montana. He traced the path of the crash and found an unexpected object with “curious hieroglyphics.”
In the middle of September 1865, just after sunset, a trapper named James Lumley claims to have witnessed a “bright luminous body in the heavens, which was moving with great rapidity in an easterly direction.”[2] As he recounted to the St. Louis Democrat, the object streaked through the sky for at least five seconds “when it suddenly separated into particles, resembling, as Mr. Lumley describes it, the bursting of a sky-rocket in the air.”[2]
Shortly after, he claimed to have heard a “heavy explosion”, and “rushing sound, like a tornado” through the forest. He said that the air was “filled with a peculiar odor, of a sulphurous character.”[2]
The following day, he found a wide path that had ripped through the forest, uprooting trees and tearing up the earth. As he traced this path of destruction, he discovered “an immense stone that had been driven into the side of a mountain.” He approached the “stone” and claimed that it was “divided into compartments, and that in various places it was carved with the curious hieroglyphics.”[2] He also noted that he found fragments of a “substance resembling glass” and dark stains, “as though caused by a liquid.”[2]

This report is quite possibly one of the more substantial UFO reports of the year. The witness wishes to remain anonymous due to the very public nature of her career with the city in which she works. On Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m. I received the phone call over the OUFOR Hotline. I was told of what happened and immediately got in my truck and drove to the residence in (deleted) from where I live in Salem. While there, I and State Director Skip Shultz investigated the area of the sighting with Shultz obtaining measurements from the home to the where the craft hovered and myself taking pictures. Here is the story along with pictures of the area. Drawing from the witness herself showing the size and relationship to the trees as seen through her window are being processed and will appear here within a day or two so please check back. The witness had laid down along with her husband in bed for the evening and was just getting comfortable. She lays on the edge of the bed closest to the window and her husband closer to the middle of the room toward the door. The blinds of the window were pulled up and the window was slid open to the left with the screen on the right allowing air into the room. At between 10 to 15 minutes after 10:00 p.m., she noticed a strong glow of light begin to appear from the top left corner of the window, coming from over the roofs edge and just beyond the thin line of trees which cover a 60 foot stretch between the house and a large expanse of open country just beyond those trees. She lay with her head on the pillow as, what she described as a “really large, plate like, fluorescent lit airborne craft” floated silently and slowly to the right, revealing itself for its size and brilliance as it continued to drift into view. Being extremely dark out the trees between the house and the object created an outline to track the slow movement. This picture was taken from the very spot where she layed as she watched the craft appear out the window.
During the first few moments of the sighting the women began yelling at her husband across the bed, “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,” and pointing. The husband rolled over and said “what?” Dumfounded by what she was looking at, and now about 6 seconds into the 10 second sighting she jumped out of bed and plastered her face against the screen and continued the watch as the now full view of the 100 foot wide glowing craft tilted slightly and came to a stop just beyond the trees some 60 feet away and 50 feet up. She reports that most of the disc was “glowing like the brightness of x-ray light” and that a dome like structure was the only part not illuminating, creating sort of a dark void area on the brightly lit craft. This picture was taken just outside the window for a clearer view of the area where this craft appeared just beyond the trees.
Her husband leaned over toward the window and again said “what?” He was still not close enough however to see what she was looking at as the craft was up too high at an angle. The wife was at this pointing watching the last 5 seconds of the 10 second sighting, only in the last few seconds getting beyond “Oh my God” long enough to blurt out “UFO!” and for him to get over and look at it. During this, she describes the craft as being totally motionless, but that the right side of the craft was beginning to disappear as if another dark, unseen object were traveling from right to left in front of it(between the lit craft and the trees) causing the object to black out of sight as it went. She watched until the left of the craft could no longer be seen and was convinced that the craft had not left but was still out there “floating” in the same spot as where she had last seen it. A short argument ensued over his not getting to the window in time to see it and they laid back down. The window was still open. A few moments later, the wife turned to her husband and said “shhhh” after hearing something outside. She got up and again pressed her ear to the screen. Just outside and strait ahead in the darkness she could hear the sound of footprints crunching through the leaves and coming toward the house…steady foot prints and coming from three separate locations in the darkness outside the window. This is a daytime photo taken during the investigation of the bushes and leaves under the trees where the sounds of crunching leaves were coming from. The window is directly behind the photographer.
She only listened for a short time… long enough to realize the steps were getting close to the house. She quickly closed the window, dropped the shades and jumped back in bed. The couple eventually fell asleep and nothing more was reported to have happened, as far as they know, for the rest of the evening. This home is in a very remote area where there is a great deal of country expanse in all directions and where but a few neighbors pepper the area up and down the country roads. A return trip will be made next weekend to speak with others in the area in hopes of finding more witnesses to this sighting. The dawn of human spaceflight brought a new vantage point for observing strange phenomena. Astronauts and cosmonauts were not only pioneers in space exploration but also some of the first humans to witness the universe from outside Earth’s protective atmosphere.
1965, Gemini 4 Mission: Astronaut James McDivitt famously reported seeing a cylindrical UFO object with what looked like an arm or antenna sticking out. He later tried to downplay the incident, but UFO researchers often cite this as one of the earliest astronaut encounters.
1969, Apollo 11 Mission: During their historic journey to the Moon, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, and Neil Armstrong allegedly observed an unidentified object trailing their spacecraft. NASA explained it as part of a detached rocket panel, but Aldrin later admitted that what they saw didn’t entirely match that explanation.
Cosmonaut Encounters During the Cold War
While NASA maintained an official stance of skepticism, Soviet cosmonauts were also reporting unusual space sightings.
Cosmonaut Viktor Afanasyev, 1979: He claimed that during a mission, his spacecraft was followed by a strange UFO object that he could not identify. He described it as metallic and structured—not just debris or space junk.
Mir Space Station Sightings (1980s–1990s): Several Russian cosmonauts reported unexplained lights and craft-like shapes appearing near their station. Some dismissed these as reflections, while others insisted they saw structured, intelligently moving UFO objects.
Space Shuttle UFO Footage
In the 1980s and 1990s, NASA’s space shuttle missions began recording long-duration video footage of space. These tapes later became central to UFO debates.
STS-48 Mission (1991): Perhaps the most famous UFO-in-space video. The footage shows luminous UFO objects moving across the screen, one of which suddenly changes direction as if responding to something. Skeptics argue these are ice particles reacting to bursts from the shuttle’s thrusters, but believers point to the abrupt, intelligent-looking maneuvers.
STS-75 “Tether Incident” (1996): During an experiment with a long tether in space, the cable broke and drifted away. Soon after, dozens of glowing, disc-like UFO objects appeared in the footage, moving behind and around the tether. NASA said these were out-of-focus ice particles illuminated by the Sun. UFO enthusiasts insist the scale and depth of the objects suggest otherwise.
Modern UFOs in Space: Satellites and the ISS
As technology advanced, the International Space Station, or the ISS, became a new frontier for UFO reports.
Live-Stream Sightings: Over the past decade, UFO hunters monitoring NASA’s ISS livestreams have captured numerous clips of strange objects appearing near the station. In some cases, NASA’s broadcast abruptly cuts when UFO objects appear, fueling conspiracy theories.
Satellite Anomalies: With thousands of satellites orbiting Earth, camera footage frequently captures fast-moving objects. While many can be explained as meteors, debris, or even reflections, some remain puzzlingly structured and controlled in their motion. NOTE: The above image is real but from another case file.
Hell arrived in Japan on March 11, 2011. It was hit by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant meltdown, a 9-point earthquake and a devastating tsunami. Miraculously, the Enmyoin Buddhist Temple in the Fukushima Prefecture remained standing as everything around it was destroyed.
The temple’s high priest, Tomonori Izumi, survived that hellish day and observed multiple UFOs over the nuclear plant immediately after three of its reactors exploded. He made this statement about what he saw and felt that day:
“The UFOs appeared after the explosion. There were so many of them. I was shocked. Radiation was leaking everywhere. . . I believe the UFOs came to regulate the flow of radiation to save us. At least that’s my theory. I don’t know if it was some kind of god or some powerful being in the UFO, but I believe that some invisible force really came to save us.”

On February 10, 1951, a United States Navy aircraft flying from Iceland to Gander, Newfoundland, reported a near-collision with a large, orange, circular UFO object. The object was described by the co-pilot as “almost literally flew circles around” the American aircraft before speeding away.
Co-pilot Graham Bethune reported that he and the pilot observed the orange, circular UFO object above the ocean for four to five minutes. Just after they called it to the attention of the rest of the crew, the UFO abruptly changed its angle of attack and moved toward the plane, leading to the near-collision.
The UFO object was reportedly detected by ground radar in Gander, corroborating the visual sighting from the aircraft.
A full, official report was filed and investigated by the government. According to UFO author Jerome Clark, the United States Air Force concluded that the UFO sighting was a high-altitude research balloon or the planet Venus.
Co-pilot Bethune, however, rejected the official explanation. He maintained that he had seen a gray UFO disc that hovered and then accelerated away with great speed and erratic maneuvers, unlike a weather balloon or a celestial object. He claimed that Navy commanders and Naval Intelligence officers also interviewed him and appeared convinced that the UFO object was real and unidentified. NOTE: The above image is C.G.I.
In October 2023, a U.S. Air Force ISR platform from the 50th Attack Squadron, operating out of Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE under Operation Spartan Shield, observed two separate unidentified aerial phenomena during an approximately 17-hour mission over the Persian Gulf. The encounters occurred at 02:41Z and 03:22Z at roughly 24,300 feet altitude while the aircraft was on a heading of 280 degrees at 162 knots true airspeed.
The first UAP was estimated to be traveling at approximately 320 mph; the second at approximately 440 mph. Both objects registered as solid physical phenomena, with the first exhibiting a notably cold thermal signature against its background — an inversion of what conventional powered aircraft typically present on infrared sensors. Military personnel filed a formal MISREP, and the case was reported to AARO. An IR sensor recording was captured.
The case is significant for several reasons: the cold thermal signature is anomalous for a conventional craft, both observed velocities substantially exceed the aircraft’s own speed, the encounters occurred within a geopolitically sensitive airspace corridor near the Iranian border (the aircraft received a professional guard call from Iranian Air Defense the same mission).
Cold thermal signature
The first UAP in this encounter registered a ‘thermal cold’ signature on infrared — meaning it appeared colder than the surrounding background sky. This is the opposite of what any conventional propulsion system (jet engine, rocket, internal combustion) would produce, making prosaic explanations challenging.
Extraordinary velocities
Both UAPs were estimated at high speed — 320 mph and 440 mph respectively — by a trained military ISR operator while the observing platform was traveling at 162 knots (~186 mph) in cruise. Neither object was identified as a friendly or hostile platform, and no radar returns, RF emissions, or acoustic signatures were recorded.

It was a cold, clear Wednesday—June 3, 1998—when private pilot Mark Muscat banked his Piper Arrow over Adelaide’s coast for a routine night-scenic. Around 9:00 p.m., at roughly 2,000 feet and heading back toward Parafield Airport, Muscat saw something he couldn’t place: six pale orange lights, dead ahead.
At first, he told himself they were fishing boats—an easy mistake from altitude when the horizon smears sea and sky. Then one of the lights darted, quick and deliberate. Boats don’t do that. The formation was airborne—and closing. Muscat radioed Adelaide air traffic control to check his situational picture. The answer came back dry: radar showed only his own aircraft up there.
The six lights appeared to spread as if to give way, then held their line. There were no nav strobes, no anti-collision beacons. As the distance collapsed, the lights resolved into discrete objects flying at staggered heights, clustered close. On the ground beneath them, residents along Semaphore Beach were also watching, phoning police about a string of orange orbs that would pause to let stragglers rejoin before moving on—behavior that, to multiple witnesses, looked coordinated.
Muscat nudged the Arrow, threading the gap. The objects slipped past on either side—about 20 meters from his wings, he estimated. No engine note. No wake turbulence. No radio static. And crucially: no wings, at least none he could discern in the few seconds they were abeam. He put their speed near his own—about 200 km/h. Without a rear window, he lost visual as they went by. Four days later, Adelaide’s Sunday Mail carried the story, quoting Muscat—then 37, from Richmond—on the baffling absence of noise, lights, radar returns, or wake, and on how the encounter rattled him only after he learned others on the coast had seen the same orange procession. The Phobos program was an unmanned space mission consisting of two probes launched by the Soviet Union to study Mars and its moons Phobos and Deimos.
Phobos 2 became a Mars orbiter and returned 38 images with a resolution of up to 40 meters. Both probes suffered from critical failures.
Phobos 1 and 2 were of a new spacecraft design, succeeding the type used in the Venera planetary missions of 1975-1985, last used during the Vega 1 and Vega 2 missions to comet Halley.
Phobos 1 was launched on July 7, 1988 and Phobos 2 on July 12, 1988, each aboard a Proton-K rocket. They each had a mass of 2600 kg (6220 kg with orbital insertion hardware attached).
The program featured co-operation from 14 other nations including Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, France, West Germany, and the United States (who contributed the use of its Deep Space Network for tracking the twin spacecraft).
Phobos ll arrived in January 1989 and entered an orbit around Mars as the first phase towards its real destination, a small Martian moon called Phobos.
The mission was flawless until the craft aligned itself with the moon.
On March 28, 1989 an elliptical object was detected moving towards the satellite seconds before it failed.
All indications were that the elliptical object had attacked the satellite which was now dead and left spinning out of control.
On March 28, 1989 Tass, the official Soviet news agency stated:
“Phobos II failed to communicate with Earth as scheduled after completing an operation yesterday around the Martian moon Phobos. Scientists at mission control have been unable to establish stable radio contact.”
But the next day a top official of the Soviet Space Agency (Glavkosmos) said: “Phobos II is 99% lost for good.”
It is important to note that he stated the entire satellite was gone and not just contact with it.
Of great interest to Ufologists was an image captured either on, or above the surface of Mars. Commonly called the shadow, whatever caused this has never been determined. If it was indeed a craft, it was of immense size.
On March 31, 1989, headlines dispatched by the Moscow correspondents of the European News Agency (EFE) stated:
“Phobos 2 Captured Strange Photos of Mars Before Losing Contact With Its Base.”
Vremya revealed yesterday that the space probe Phobos II, which was orbiting above Mars when Soviet scientists lost contact with it on Monday, had photographed an UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT on the Martian surface seconds before losing contact.”
Scientists described the UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT as a thin ellipse 20 KILOMETERS LONG!
It was further stated that the photos could not be an illusion because it was captured by 2 different color cameras as well as cameras taking infrared shots.
One controller at the Kaliningrad control center concluded that the probe was now spinning out of control. It would seem that something struck or shot the Phobos II Probe.
In the October 19, 1989 issue of Nature Magazine, Soviet scientists concluded that the craft could be spinning because it was impacted.
It has long been rumored that Mars and its moon Phobos are alien colonies. The surface of Mars is covered with strange shapes/buildings that do not appear to be natural such as the pyramids, square buildings, runways, etc.
One structure shows the face of a man with a helmet looking into space. It can be seen at the National Space Science Data Center, Viking photo with catalog number 76-A-593/17384 Titled “HEAD.”
Another photo is 070-A-13. There are now eleven Viking photographs (and growing) of this obviously intelligently constructed monument on the surface of Mars.
The “HEAD” and other artificial features such as the pyramids were combined by electrical engineer and imaging specialist Vincent DiPietro and a Lockheed computer scientist.
The composite images seemed to show that the features on the surface of Mars had been artificially sculpted… Just maybe, WE ARE NOT ALONE!

We live a few blocks from the beach on a barrier island outside of Charleston. Around midnight, several nights a week, I spend an hour or so on our third floor deck listening to the ocean, looking for shooting stars and satellites (wondering about UFO’s). On January 17, 2003, at 12:30 AM, I saw a very bright (brighter than the brightest star/planet) orange light in the sky moving from the shore, inland WNW. It appeared lower than a plane when it is on approach and holding. Behind it was a jet. We live near an Air Force base and often see airplanes traveling in tandem, so I assumed it were a pair of Air Force jets although an object moving across the sky with nothing visible but a bright orange light looked quite peculiar. Less than a minute passed when I realized I was observing a jet in pursuit of the orange light. The two traveled back and forth and up and down, with the plane clearly following whatever the orange light was doing. It really looked like a rather slow chase. They were both moving at about the same speed of an airplane on approach. After about six minutes, the plane followed the orange light SE and out of my view. On 23 January at the same time of night, my boyfriend and I saw the same orange light in the sky moving inland from the ocean. It was a cloudy night and it disappeared behind some clouds in uunder two minutes. There were no airplanes in pursuit. NOTE: The above image is real but from another case file.
I was sky watching, scanning the distant pastures of the Buckland area through the powerful lens of my Nikon P900 Camera. I was searching the horizon for anything out of the ordinary when an unexpected flash of motion stopped me in my tracks and grabbed my full attention. Hovering slowly above the furthest field was a peculiar, stark-white, flying-saucer-shaped craft, crowned with a shifting, dark structure atop its dome.
I managed to quickly frame the anomaly and capture it in just two photographs before it vanished into thin air, leaving nothing behind in the empty sky. Having witnessed countless strange, unexplainable phenomena across this region of Devon, I’ve come to realize these sightings are a frequent occurrence—a reality that remains endlessly fascinating to me. The sighting occurred just before 11am.. on Friday, September 19, 1952 in North Yorkshire, England, when Lieutenant John W. Kilburn and at least four other aircrew personnel on the ground observed a Gloster Meteor (plane) approach the RAF Topcliffe airbase from the East. The aircrew “suddenly noticed a white object in the sky at a height between ten and twenty thousand feet some five miles astern of the Meteor.”
“The object was silver in color and circular in shape, it appeared to be traveling at a much slower speed than the Meteor, but was on a similar course. It maintained the slow forward speed for a few seconds before commencing to descend, swinging in a pendular motion during descent, similar to a falling sycamore leaf. This was at first thought to be a parachute or engine cowling. The Meteor, meanwhile, turned towards [unreadable] and the object, while continuing its descent, appeared to follow suit.”
“After a further few seconds, the object stopped its pendulous motion and its descent, and began to rotate about its own axis. Suddenly, it accelerated at an incredible speed towards the west, turning onto a south-easterly heading before disappearing.”
“All of this occurred in a matter of fifteen to twenty seconds. The acceleration was in excess of that of a shooting star. I have never seen such a phenomenon before. The movements of the object were not identifiable with anything I have seen in the air and the rate of acceleration was unbelievable.” This incident was documented in a front page headline in the September 20, 1952 edition of the Yorkshire Evening Press. UFO object was spotted after midnight, while a B-29 bomber from the 468th United States Air Force Bomb Group, was returning from a bombing mission somewhere in Southeast Asia, targeting Japanese forces. The UFO was described as having “board wings,” vibrating, and having an intense red or orange color.
The UFO object followed the B-29 bomber for eight minutes at a constant distance of about 500 yards, while the plane was flying at 14,000 feet. After the pilot performed evasive maneuvers, the object flew away at a 90-degree angle, accelerating quickly.
The 468th was a United States Army Air Forces unit that flew B-29 Superfortress bombers in the China-Burma-India and Pacific theaters.
In August 1944, the group was operating from bases in India and China, striking Japanese targets in Southeast Asia and Japan itself. The day after the UFO sighting, the group participated in a raid on the iron and steel works at Yawata, Japan.
Throughout 1944, Allied pilots in both Europe and the Pacific reported seeing unexplained glowing UFO orbs and lights following their aircraft. Military intelligence investigated the sightings, suspecting they might be secret German or Japanese weapons. However, Axis pilots also reported seeing similar UFO objects. No conventional explanation, such as enemy aircraft or weather phenomena, could consistently account for the strange UFO objects. The mystery was never officially resolved during the war.
