President Eisenhower Meets with Aliens in 1954

One of the first conclusions an impartial observer must make about the subject of UFOs is that rumors and circumstance play far too great a role in what ought to be a more exacting quest for knowledge. It is just such an observation which once led Dr. Carl Sagan to comment dryly that UFOs “are more a matter for religion and superstition than they are for science.”

While this dismissal is perhaps unscientific in its own right, the point is well taken. Attend any gathering of “UFO people” you want, and simply listen. Rumors abound. Perhaps worse, however, is that some of these rumors manage to circulate for years (even decades) without anyone making a reasonable effort to get to the bottom of them.

One of the most persistent of these is a story that President Eisenhower visited Edwards Air Force Base in early 1954, and either viewed the bodies of dead aliens and the wreckage of their craft, or met with live aliens on some sort of diplomatic mission to earth.

The story takes many forms, with the common thread being that Ike mysteriously disappeared one evening while on a vacation to Palm Springs, and that he was spirited to Edwards to view (or meet) aliens. It is said that he returned by dawn and shortly thereafter ordered absolute secrecy about anything having to do with UFOs.

No doubt one of the reasons that this particular rumor has continued to circulate for such a long time is that there are a number of verifiable facts associated with it–some of them rather curious.

For example, President Eisenhower did indeed make a trip to Palm Springs between February 17th and 24th, 1954, and on the evening of Saturday, February 20th, he did disappear! When members of the press learned that the president was not where he should be, rumors ran rampant that he had either died or was seriously ill.

The story even managed to get onto a press wire before being killed moments later. To quell the fuss, White House Press Secretary James Haggerty called an urgent late evening press conference to announce “solemnly” that the president had been enjoying fried chicken earlier that evening, had knocked a cap off a tooth, and had been taken to a local dentist for treatment.

When Ike turned up as scheduled the next morning for an early church service, the matter seemed ended. Although the Palm Springs trip was billed as a “vacation for the president”, the trip appears to have come up rather suddenly.

In addition, it is a matter of record that Ike had returned from a quail shooting vacation in Georgia less than a week before leaving for Palm Springs.

While the incidence of a local dentist being called upon to treat a president of the United States is unusual enough that it should constitute a rather memorable event for those involved, the dentist’s widow, in a June, 1979 interview, was curiously unable to recall any specifics relating to her husband’s alleged involvement in the affair–not even the time of day it had occurred. Yet her memory appeared flawless when asked to relate details of her and her husband’s attendance (by presidential invitation) at a steak fry the following evening, where her husband was introduced as “the dentist who had treated the president”.

This would appear to suggest a cover story, the details of which would have easily been repeated at the time, but quite naturally forgotten 25 years later. Research at the Eisenhower Library has uncovered two other facts inconsistent with the dentist story.

The first is that while the library maintains an extensive index of records relating to the president’s health, there is no record of any dental work having been performed at all during February, 1954. A file on “Dentists” contains nothing concerning any such incident either. Secondly, there is a large file containing copies of all sorts of acknowledgments which were sent by the White House to people who had something to do with the Palm Springs trip.

There are letters, for example, to people who sent flowers, people who met the airplane, people who had offered to play golf, etc. There is even a thank you letter to the minister who presided over the Sunday service Ike attended. Yet there is no record of any acknowledgment having been sent to “the dentist who treated the president.”

If the matter were as routine as Haggerty attempts to make it appear, then the absence of these records seems strangely inconsistent. The rumor of the president’s alleged visit to Edwards is not a new one. UFO contactee fringe writers began making unsupported claims about it less than two months after Ike’s trip.

So did a bizarre fellow from the Hollywood hills named Gerald Light, who, in an April 16, 1954 letter to the head of a Southern California metaphysical organization, actually claimed to have been at Edwards where he saw Ike, the saucers and the aliens. Light’s letter has been controversial for years and copies of it have turned up in all sorts of places, including the National Enquirer.

Investigation into Mr. Light’s background, however, turned up the fact that he was an elderly mystic who believed that psychic “out-of-body-experiences” were a logical extension of the reality of life and should be treated as such. In the final analysis, Light’s alleged visit to Edwards was just such an experience.

And so the story ends. Clearly something unusual occurred involving the president on the evening of February 20, 1954. Whether it was a trip to the dentist, a trip to see flying saucers, or something altogether different and unrelated, no one can say. It’s the stuff rumors are made of.

MILITARY B-52 ALIEN CRAFT ENCOUNTER

Time 05:24 LT, 100 mi. south of Louisiana coast
Duration 10 mn Coordinates 20°18N / 92°W

On December 6, 1952 the crew (three men) of a USAF B-29 was flying over the Gulf of Mexico just before dawn when several unidentified targets appeared on the bomber radar’s scopes.

The targets maneuvered around the bomber at speeds at 5240 mph. The crew members had visual contact with the objects as they streaked past their aircraft.

After several minutes of maneuvering around the B-29, the five objects, still moving over 5000 mph, merged with a larger object which appeared on radar as a huge blip and began to accelerate and flashed across the three radar scopes at a speed computed to be over 9000 mph.

Statement of 1st Lt Norman Karas (USAF Blue Book record) :
” On 6 December 1952, while flying over the Gulf of Mexico towards Galveston, Texas, the flight engineer finished transferring fuel and I then turned on my radar set. I noticed an unidentified target approaching our aircraft at terrific rate odf speed.

I timed it as best as I could with my stopwatch over a known distance and the instructor flight engineer computed the speed at 5,240 mph. I alerted the entire crew to look for the object visually and some flashes of light were noticed. The closest the objects came were approximately 20 miles.

I saw about 20 objects in all, sometimes as much as  two and three on the scope at one time. I re-calibrated the set and there was no change. The object was small and possibly round …….”.

“I also noticed  a large return come up to within 40 miles of our tail from behind, and then disappeared. To the best of my knowledge, I believe that this object was real and moved at an extremely high speed and was not a set malfunction or optical illusion”.

Statement of 1st Lt William W. Naumann (USAF Blue Book record) :  “Contact was broken off at 05:35 after a group of the blips merged into a ½ inch curved arc about 30 miles from our aircraft at 320 degrees and proceeded across the scope and off it at a computed speed of over 9,000 mph.

MANY AMAZING DISCOVERIES KEPT SECRET FROM THE PUBLIC

UFO and Alien Egyptian Artifacts Discovered In Jerusalem Kept Secret By Rockefeller Museum.

Alien and UFO circles are abuzz with claims of remarkable ancient Egyptian artifacts discovered in the former Jerusalem home of the famous Egyptologist Sir William Petrie, items that “could rewrite ancient Egyptian history” and indeed the history of the world.  A YouTube video released by the website Paranormal Crucible purports to show ancient Egyptian sculpture artifacts originally found in the “Giza complex,” but reportedly taken away from Petrie’s Jerusalem home by representatives of the Rockefeller Archaeological Museum shortly after they were found, according to the website UFO Sightings Daily.  According to the Shepard Ambellas, editor-in-chief of the “alternative news” website Intellihub News, the alien Egyptian artifacts were discovered hidden in a secret room behind the Egyptologist’s bookcase. Petrie had apparently found proof of extraterrestrial life on Earth before he died in 1942, but chose to hide them away in his Jerusalem home.   Now that the Rockefeller Museum has taken possession of the artifacts, alien and UFO pundits fear they may never be accessible to the public.  However, Ambellas claims that some of the relics may be seen at the Petri Museum of Egyptian Archaeology in Malet Place, Camden, near Gower Street, London.  The Inquisitr was able to confirm that the prestigious Petri Museum of Egyptian Archaeology has in its possession a vast collection of ancient Egyptian and Sudanese artifacts, including ancient Egyptian “firsts,” such as the “oldest linen” and “oldest dress” from ancient Egypt (5,000 B.C.). The museum also displays lion sculptures from the temple of Min in Koptos and the earliest known products of metallurgy from the ancient civilization.  However, The Inquisitr was unable to confirm that the museum has on display “alien Egyptian artifacts” recovered from a secret room in Petrie’s former home in Jerusalem.  But believers will assume that the more sensitive relics of alien origins are being kept from the public.  Ambella claims that the alien Egyptian artifacts allegedly found in Petrie’s former Jerusalem home, which link the ancient Egyptian civilization to an advanced ET civilization, include two mummified bodies less than four feet in height. Although dwarfs and pygmies captured in the interior of Africa were held in high esteem as “celestial beings” in the Old Kingdom era of ancient Egypt and served in high positions, Ambella speculates that these four-foot creatures are “possibly alien in nature,” and thus literally of “celestial” origins.  Details of the physical features of the mummified bodies appear to support the suggestion that they were “possibly alien in nature.” According to Ambellas, the skeletons have stereotypical alien “elongated heads, large eye sockets, and long spinally arms.”

Equally interesting were the “highly advanced” mechanical devices, including a disc of gold with a transparent top found with the alien bodies. According to Ambella, the high-tech devices have “an intricate mechanism which is surrounded by gold spiral tubing that has several small gold orbs and crosses attached to it.”  The devices had non-ancient Egyptian symbols on them. This is not the first time that archaeologists have found ancient Egyptian stone tablets bearing inscriptions suggestive of alien spacecraft and other sophisticated and advanced machinery. The image below shows the famous “Helicopter Hieroglyphs” recovered from a temple in Abydos, Egypt, showing what appears to be modern aircraft.  Although scientists have attributed the “aircraft” interpretation of these inscriptions to the psychological phenomenon called pareidolia, the belief is widespread in alien and UFO enthusiast circles that these hieroglyph inscriptions are proof of alien pilots and astronauts who contacted ancient human civilizations and influenced the cultural and technological development of early human societies.  And indeed, the precocity of the ancient Egyptian civilization appears to make the alien contact theory credible to ET and UFO enthusiasts, who believe that aliens built such architectural marvels as the Pyramid of Giza long before the ancient Egyptian civilization emerged.  Several UFO and alien news websites reported in November of 2010 that Dr. Alaaeldin Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University, admitted, in response to a question about the ET links of the pyramids, that the ancient Egyptian pyramids are “not of this world.”  “I can not confirm or deny this, but there is something inside the pyramid that is ‘not of this entire world.’”  But he later denied the widely circulated report.  “I did not give such stupid statement[s] about aliens and Pyramids. As [I am] Egyptologist I could [not] say such stupid words and ideas.”  Needless to say, such denials don’t impress UFO and ET believers, who see evidence of “cover up” conspiracies when officials and academics deny revealing statements earlier ascribed to them.  UFO and ET pundits continue to debate why Sir William Petrie and his colleagues kept these remarkable alien Egyptian artifacts secret and did not release them to the “general public.”
