I am 31 years old. I live in Sebring. I believe I have seen the same UFO twice in my life, it’s hard to say if it was the exact same one. Once, I saw it in the evening, flying towards the west as the sun was coming down, it was a V shaped craft, silver/gray, no distinct features, just a simple aircraft in the shape of a V, the point of the V seemed to be the front of the craft. Once again, I believe I saw the same UFO, this time, ten years later, but at night, flying extremely low, a V shaped craft flew over my apartment complex, while me and some neighbors were sitting outside, I saw one light coming up over the woods, it looked like an orange streetlight but it was moving towards us, just above the tree line, as I was watching it, wondering what I was seeing, two more lights appeared behind it, then two more, and two more, until we were looking at a V shaped craft with lights underneath. As soon as me and another neighbor jumped up to get a better view, it immediately changed direction and disappeared as it flew away, we chased it down the woods, past a couple of buildings in our apartment complex, trying to get into a clear spot of trees so that we could see it clearly, but it was gone. I am certain that it was the same type of craft both times, if not the same one. The first sighting was in 2010, over Avon Park, FL. flying in a direction away from the private airport, low enough for me to make it out clearly, but high enough for people to basically ignore it (I, however, have always been interested in stars and space exploration and am ALWAYS watching the skies). For years, I tried to research what I saw, and came to the conclusion that I must have seen a top-secret military craft. There is an Air Force Bombing Range in Avon Park and we do hear them practicing out there, and see them flying over the whole county, all the time… The second time, however, was in Sebring FL and I do have a witness to that encounter. Me and my neighbor were stunned and chased it to get a better view, which was impossible. We continued to joke that we saw a UFO, but he looked scared at what he saw, whereas I had already encountered something similar and did my own research and thought I was seeing something of man-made origin. However, it made a 90 degree turn and flew away faster than anything I had ever seen. It sounded like a gust of wind, several neighbors heard it, saw lights, but didn’t see it clear enough to form their own opinions of what it might be. Both of us know how man-made aircraft fly, what’s considered normal and what is impossible. Can a man-made craft turn at a perfect 90 degree angle, perfectly evade detection as soon as we set chase, and accelerate to top speeds in the blink of an eye? Both times flying “under the radar”. I’m willing to accept whatever it is, whether it was of alien origin, or man-made military. I just need to know what it was that I saw. NOTE: The above image is CGI.
Hi Ken– hope you are well my friend : It was the early hours of the morning, and I was looking out of my open bedroom window to see if the moon was visible, but unfortunately it was not. It was cloudy, but there were however some brakes in the clouds here and there. Disappointed that I couldn’t photograph the moon I went to close the window when all of a sudden I thought I saw something dart across a large brake in the clouds, where the sky was visible, so I immediately zoomed in on the area with my Nikon P900 camera and took some photographs, and while I was in the process of doing so, something large flew across the sky. I thought to myself “That was very odd”. I then close the window and put down my camera on the side table and then went straight to bed for some much-needed sleep. I woke up later that morning and I instantly remembered that I had photographed something strange out of the bedroom window in the early hours of the morning. I was very intrigued to see what I had captured, so I quickly got out of bed and got ready. I then went over to my camera and pulled out the S.D. card, which I then took over to the computer. Looking at the image on the monitor I could see that I had indeed captured something rather odd in the photograph, so I brightened it up revealing that I had captured a large metallic looking UFO in the photograph. This is very unusual it was pitch black outside when I took this photograph and there was no sound of any aircraft or anything else for that matter. What on earth could this large aerial object be? It clearly has structure to It, and it definitely seems to be metallic in nature. What had I captured flying over this area in the early hours of the morning. This is quite incredible… It looks like a rocket ship from an old comic book. The photograph was taken at 3:14 AM on the 30th of June 2021, at Newton Abbot Devon England. All the best John.

I was the third truck of four, that were running together. We left Oakland after a concert we were touring with, headed to San Diego. At about 3am I happened to see a light shine out across in front of us maybe two miles or so ahead of us on the right, and it went out. I didn’t think much of it. I thought at first someone was shinning deer. Than I saw a beam shine downward but didn’t see anything else. The origin of the light looked to be about 100ft above the ground. Then it went out. Then you could see white marker lights as it crossed the 5 and turned north on the other side and came at us. Before it reached us it turned back and went south and crossed back over the 5 to the west and the lights all went out and I couldn’t see it anymore. The fella in the truck in front of said he saw it off the the right just sitting there hovering. I saw light shinning in my passenger side window coming at me from a little behind me. I thought it was going to slam into the side of my tractor. It came straight at me. There were three very bright white lights across the front edge ot this thing, shinning right into my side window. It came to almost a complete stop, rotated tipped up on its edge and slid over the top of my tractor, and out over the front of my windshield. When we stop later that morning, and I stopped my video cameras to go back over that segments to see if it got recorded. I didn’t think it would catch it, because the cameras are set to look down out over the hood of my truck to the road in front of me. I would estimate that craft was about 30 to 50 feet above the truck in front of me. With a high degree of certainty it would say that this thing was about 14ft at it widest point, probably close to 20ft long. My tractor is 19.5ft long and 13.4ft tall. As it came over and out into view I got a really good look at it (see drawing) the edge of this was slightly larger than the light placement on the underside. Interstate lanes are 12ft x2 plus 11ft for both shoulders, that’s a total of 35ft. This was just a little larger than a single lane. Smallest Cessna has a 32ft wing span, and crop dusters are 34ft. this was no plane. It had no visible propulsion system. It could be a new military style drone but can drones hover without propellers or a fan system? More to the point, why would the military put people on the highway at risk. I’m still baffled that there is absolutely no light flash in my cab when it came at me. Should have seen the inside of my cab light up in the video. Just another strange aspect. I would have to say my buddies where really excited over this event, trying to put it into some kind of contexts. I tried to tell them you can’t. You’ll always have this with you, wondering what it was. I told them this was the third time I’ve had events in very close proximity with aerial phenomena, and it wasn’t even the strangest, and if you tell it to people that have never experience something like this, they’ll tell you, what you saw, isn’t what you saw. When we first saw it and it crossed the 5 heading east, a couple miles ahead of us. Had it kept going straight, it just would have been a low flying airplane under 500ft. At night! The map that’s attached gives context to what interaction occurred. The circle up by the Chevron Station is roughly where we were when I first saw the light shoot out to the east.

JULY 15, 2012……..WINGHAM NEAR CANTERBURY KENT ENGLAND
On the day of this sighting, Ray was out on one of his regular walks in this remote and relatively flat landscape. There are scant few agricultural buildings and the land is extensive in farming, with wide open spaces. The weather was thick cloud to the West with a small break in the cloud to the south with the sun breaking through to the left of a main coppice of woods.
The woodland recedes abruptly and there is a clear run of vision to the horizon panning from South West to South for about a mile and a half, from which a wind mill marks the start of a new line of trees.
In Ray’s account of his sighting whilst walking his dog, he states the following:
“I noticed something moving that I thought was a flight of geese. It caught my eye because right now, this is not happening around here-it did not fit.”“I kept my eye on it and realiszed that it was going too fast to be birds. Then I realized I was not looking at something a few hundred meters away – this thing passed into a lower density area of a cloud (heavy rain and storm clouds – c/n?) that was maybe 5 miles away, maybe more due to the elevation, I’m not sure… As it did this I saw that it was a solid object – dark grey/black. It was pointed at the front (hence me thinking I was viewing geese from my ground angle) and square like to the back, it had about five sides, like a classic diamond icon.
It was at about 22-25 degrees vertical, and I tracked it with my eye through about 80 degrees horizontal before it passed out of sight behind the trees of a small coppice. I guess it was about 4 or 5 seconds I was watching it for – I was so agog that I couldn’t say anything, my son was with me but playing with the dog, and forget about trying to film it – it was gone! I tried to explain it away, said maybe it was a shadow of something on the clouds, but there was absolutely no way I can think of to explain what I saw, and I have seen most kinds of aircraft in flight (I was obsessed with the things as a kid/lived next to a military and commercial airport…). When I got back to my parents’ house I told my mother what I had seen, she said she’s been seeing weird stuff in the sky all week, she’s even heard them – they make a buzzing/ringing noise apparently. Has anyone else seen anything?”
I met Ray on location and we got the positioning of the sighting photographed and filmed in transit with a live pan shot. It was reviewed that the time was closer to between ten to fifteen seconds, when we replayed the sighting footage and realized that the sighting from beginning to end was longer than the five seconds that Ray recalled, from his realization that he was not observing geese. The former director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (ATTIP), the secretive Pentagon unit that studied UFOs, says there is “compelling” evidence the flying objects exist and have been seen over U.S. airspace.
Luis Elizondo made the comments in a CBS interview aired on Sunday, weeks ahead of a government report on UFOs being released. After being asked by Bill Whittaker on CBS’s 60 Minutes whether UFOs—or unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs)—were real, Elizondo said: “Bill, I think we’re beyond that already. The gov has already stated for the record that they’re real. I’m not telling you that, the United States government is telling you that.”
UFOs, long dismissed and relegated to movies and science fiction, have begun to shed the farce label in recent years after the release of footage of high-profile U.S. military encounters with aircraft of unknown origin.
In June 2020, tucked into the 2021 Intelligence Authorization Act, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) added language requesting that the director of national intelligence and the secretary of defense create a report with “a detailed analysis of unidentified aerial phenomena data and intelligence reporting.” Two months later, the Pentagon followed suit with the new, more serious approach, creating a task force to investigate the encounters by U.S. military aircraft. The report is due to be released by next month.
Rubio has previously told Newsweek he wants to get past UFO jokes to make sure the national security of the U.S. isn’t threatened.
In the Sunday CBS interview, Whittaker tells Elizondo that UFOs being real sounds “nutty, wacky.”
“Look, Bill, I’m not, I’m not telling you that, that it doesn’t sound wacky. What I’m telling you, it’s real. The question is, what is it? What are its intentions? What are its capabilities?” Elizondo said.
“Imagine a technology that can do 6-to-700 g-forces, that can fly at 13,000 miles an hour, that can evade radar and that can fly through air and water and possibly space. And oh, by the way, has no obvious signs of propulsion, no wings, no control surfaces and yet still can defy the natural effects of Earth’s gravity. That’s precisely what we’re seeing.
Asked by Whittaker what he says to skeptics, Elizondo said: “In some cases there are simple explanations for what people are witnessing. But there are some that, that are not. We’re not just simply jumping to a conclusion that’s saying, ‘Oh, that’s a UAP out there.'”
“We’re going through our due diligence. Is it some sort of new type of cruise missile technology that China has developed? Is it some sort of high-altitude balloon that’s conducting reconnaissance? Ultimately when you have exhausted all those what-ifs and you’re still left with the fact that this is in our airspace and it’s real, that’s when it becomes compelling, and that’s when it becomes problematic,” he added.
The former official spent two decades running military intelligence operations in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Guantanamo Bay. In 2010, he took over the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), part of a $22 million program sponsored by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to investigate UFOs. But many in the Pentagon dismissed Elizondo’s findings, and AATIP was dropped in 2012.
Elizondo said he and a few others continued to keep investigating independently.
Christopher Mellon, the former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence for presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, grew concerned that nothing was being done about UAPs. Mellon then helped Elizondo elevate the issue in the department and actually get it to the Secretary of Defense by leaking three Navy videos appearing to show UFOs to the New York Times, thrusting UFOs back into the limelight.
In August 2020, the funding came back and AATTP was re-established—now under the banner of the UAP task force—and service members now are encouraged to report strange encounters.
Several navy pilots have reported sightings of suspicious objects that defied the laws of physics on some of their missions.
Former Navy pilot Lieutenant Ryan Graves told CBS his F/A-18F squadron began seeing UAPs hovering over restricted airspace southeast of Virginia Beach in 2014.
He says his pilots see them off the Atlantic Coast all the time. “Every day. Every day for at least a couple years,” he said.
The program played a video of one being spotted by Graves’ squadron off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida in 2015. Sounding shocked, the pilots are heard saying: “Look at that thing, it’s rotating! My gosh! They’re all going against the wind, the wind’s 120 knots to the west. Look at that thing dude!”
Graves said pilots believe these objects are secret U.S. or enemy spy technology. He said it was most likely a threat observation program, probably from Russia or China.
Another two pilots told the program that training about 100 miles southwest of San Diego, they saw Tic Tac-like object that mirrored their moves before disappearing abruptly. Just seconds later, the same object was detected by a navy ship 60 miles away, they said.
The government has mainly ignored UFOs since 1969, when it closed its Project Blue Book investigation. It logged 12,618 UFO sightings between 1947 and 1969.

U.S. intelligence agencies are expected to deliver a report on “unidentified aerial phenomena” to Congress next month, sparking renewed interest and speculation into how the government has handled sightings of mysterious flying objects — and if there’s any worldly explanation for them.
The unclassified report, compiled by the director of national intelligence and the secretary of defense, aims to make public what the Pentagon knows about unidentified flying objects and data analyzed from such encounters.
While UFOs have been part of American mythology for decades, this report is different. Legitimate debates over UFO sightings have gained traction in recent years after several leaked photos and videos from the U.S. Navy appeared to show mysterious flying objects in American airspace.
Last year, the Pentagon declassified three such videos captured by Navy pilots, intensifying speculation over the incidents, which have been confirmed by pilots who have observed them and even presidents who have been briefed on them.
Here’s how UFO sightings jumped from the realm of science fiction to the halls of Congress.
What do we know so far?
In August, the Department of Defense established the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force to investigate and “gain insight” into the “nature and origins” of unidentified flying objects. Earlier that year, the Department of Defense declassified three videos taken by Navy pilots — one from 2004 and two from 2015 — that showed mysterious objects flying at high speeds across the sky.
“The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as ‘unidentified,’” Pentagon officials said in a statement at the time.
The three videos had leaked years earlier, but Pentagon officials said they declassified the footage to “clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos.”
A separate leaked Navy video, captured in July 2019, showed a sphere-shaped unidentified object flying over water near San Diego. The footage, obtained by a documentary filmmaker and shared with NBC News, appeared to show the mysterious object flying for a few minutes before disappearing into the water.
And on Sunday, two former Navy pilots were interviewed by “60 Minutes” on CBS News about a UFO sighting over the Pacific Ocean in 2004. Cmdr. Dave Fravor and Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich spotted the unidentified object during a training exercise but were unable to classify it. Fravor described it as a “little white Tic-Tac-looking object,” adding that it lacked conventional exhaust plumes and had no wings or visible markings.
It also moved erratically, the pilots said.
In an interview with NBC News that aired in February, Fravor described the 2004 encounter, calling the object “the strangest, most obscure thing I’ve ever seen flying.”
“As soon as we looked down, we see the whitewater, and then we see this little white Tic Tac,” Fravor told NBC’s “The Overview.” “It’s pointing north-south and it’s just going forward, back, left, right,” he said, adding that it was bouncing around “like a ping-pong ball.”
Fravor said he approached the mysterious object to take a closer look, and it began mirroring his movements. When the pilot got to within a half-mile of the UFO, it suddenly vanished, he said. In 2019, the Navy put together new guidelines for pilots to report “unidentified aircraft,” in a bid to formalize a process to investigate these types of mysterious sightings. The updated guidance came as a response to “a number of reports of unauthorized and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-controlled ranges and designated air space in recent years,” Navy officials told Politico in a statement at the time.
Seeing a giant triangular object just above my head on November 26, 2003. That’s the day the United States invaded Iraq. After the fall of Iraq, when Saddam had been hiding in a mouse hole for some time, I saw that triangle at about 8:00 pm, I stood in the middle of the yard and looked at the sky. I said how they saw the moon two nights ago when it is still impossible to see the moon. The sky was completely dark and foggy and no light could be seen. After a few minutes, I noticed the movement of an object moving in the dark sky. The more I noticed, the triangular shape was very, very giant. From my guess, each side of the triangle was more than 100 meters, but the back side looked a little smaller. Its height seemed very low, for example about 150 to 300 meters above the ground. Its speed was about 30 kilometers per hour, or the speed of a bicycle. It was completely silent and completely black and the same color as the sky. Maybe he had made that object in the sky for more camouflage. His height did not go up or down at all. His speed was exactly the same speed and in no way increased or decreased. Its direction was on a perfectly straight line, exactly from south to north, and it could not be left or right at all. I wanted to take a photo with my Sony Ericsson mobile phone, but that phone was useless and nothing could be seen inside the photo. I called my brothers, but no one heard Saddam because it was almost cold and the windows were closed and they were watching satellite programs almost loudly. It took about 10 minutes for the object to reach me from south to north and move just above my head. If I turned my head and looked at it again, I could hardly find it, and from its speed and direction, I could tell where the sky is now, and I would look at it and find it again. In my opinion, that triangular object can be a UFO nest so that it can hold dozens of UFOs. (Like warships with dozens of planes on them) and I can say that I have seen the mother ship of the UFOs. Now the question is: That giant object due to its very low speed but much larger than the football field and its not going up and down and that it was completely soundless and without light; There were no satellites, planes, spy planes, helicopters or balloons. We all know that it did not look like man-made technology. And I don’t think it could be detected by human radar. That is, completely hidden from the radar. And what happened that night? Observed a large black triangle-shaped object hovering over the Pee Dee River in close proximity to the electrical Dam. I observed the object hovering, then began slowly drifting to the West eventually overflying my position continuing in a western trajectory. When the craft overflew my position, I estimated it to be an extremely large craft estimate size of 300 ft. I and my cousin both observed an unusually bright light that appeared to be hovering over the dam near the Pee Dee River. My cousin asked me what did I think it was? I told him that it was probably an airplane heading in our direction which made it appear to be hovering. Then we both noticed that the object appeared to be stationary in the air. I then told him that it was probably a helicopter in a hover over the dam. We proceeded traveling East on Hwy 73. The closer I got the object, it appeared to something other than a helicopter. That part of Hwy 73 East is in a very rural, quiet area, If the object we were observing were a helicopter, we should have been close enough to hear noise from rotor wash…yet we heard nothing. I being a person of logic, then attributed the craft to be a blimp of some sort, but couldn’t find a reason for a blimp to be hovering over the dam. At that time I decided to pull over to satisfy my curiosity and to try to determine what it was that we were observing. As soon as I pulled over, the bright light at the front of the object went out. It was obvious to me that we had been spotted by a person or something inside of the object; I was of the opinion that the occupants of the object were deliberately trying to hide from us. When I exited my car, I saw the dark underbelly of the object. it was huge. I could tell due to it blocking out the stars above. I vaguely recall other people who pulled over to observe it too. The funny thing is that I do not recall talking to them about what we all saw. I do not have any recall of what happed the rest of that night. I am somewhat afraid to find out, but I feel that it must be done. Can you help me to find out? NOTE: The above image is CGI.
Miguel [last name withheld] while doing his regular exercises and stargazing in his backyard, reported seeing a boomerang traveling from the northeast (generally over the greater Los Angeles region) to the southwest (generally over the Pacific Ocean toward Santa Catalina Island). According to Miguel’s CMS report, the boomerang was over 300 feet in size, had a dark surface, white exterior lights, no emissions and no sound. It maintained a constant speed and elevation, had “fuzzy edges”, and a “mist or shroud” about it. There were no colored running lights on the extreme ends of the boomerang. He saw a helicopter in the area after the object flew past. Miguel attached the artist’s impression of a boomerang shown below to illustrate what he saw. It was at a distance of more than one mile.
His description of the incident follows: “While doing my exercise in my backyard, I paused to look at the sky for Orion’s belt and other stars. I then looked northeast to see a boomerang-shaped craft about the size of two football fields, side-by-side. I thought it was too wide to be a military plane (and those make a ton of noise). I could not see a fuselage or red and/or blue [green?] lights at the ‘wing’ tips. The white lights it had remained constant. The outline towards the back was dim even before going off in the distance. The craft’s speed was consistent (did not speed up or slow down). I will attach an artist’s rendition of what I saw.”
Ufologists are at a loss: in the sky over El Paso, Texas, a driver recorded what appears to be a glowing triangular-shaped UFO. The object was moving completely silently.
The video shows the object flying at high speed by a mysterious “glowing triangle”, and surprised not only is this unique form, but also its bright backlight. In addition, the UFO moved soundlessly, that is, he could be mistaken for extraterrestrial aircraft.
Although there are many reports of triangle-shaped craft, they are rarely captured on any type of media. American researchers of extraterrestrial civilizations and the aliens are surprised by the capture of this type of flying craft.
Every year the aliens appear on the planet more often and are manifested more and more in an amazing way – what could it be?… Some observers carefully analyzed the material and verified its authenticity. Webmaster B J Booth of the UFO Casebook did note that it was unusual that the car seemed to pace the UFO so well.

Driving to work and noticed a strange light in a triangular shape toward the horizon. Took my cell phone and took pictures and a short video with my Samsung Galaxy s8.
I was on my way to work the morning of August 31, 2018 at 6:25 in the morning. I stared at the sunrise as usual because I have to stop a red light, right before I get on the freeway to work.
After a few minutes I glanced to the right and saw a glowing triangle and thought it was weird. So I took several pictures and a short video with my Samsung Galaxy S8.
It’s still new to me and noticed afterwards that the phone does an amazing thing automatically… it stabilized the video on its own. Yes, I did zoom in on the object and luckily it worked perfectly. Even if it’s explainable, it is an interesting video. pictures.
Although Arrowhead UFOs are not the most common of UFO shapes sighted, this sighting was even more unusual because of its duration. The craft was seen by the entire crew of the Oil Tanker “British Grenadier” for exactly 3 days!
The event occurred around April/May 1969 while the “British Grenadier” was sailing through the Gulf of Mexico. The UFO appeared directly above the ship at exactly noon on the first day. It just seemed to appear as nobody saw it arrive and it remained above the ship for the next 3 days.
According to reports the craft was approximately 1 mile above the ship and dark blue in colour during the day. At night it appeared as a silvery light. The weather conditions were good at the time, with a clear sky and calm seas.
On the first day of its arrival (one minute after midnight), the ships engines suddenly stopped and only emergency lighting and steering were available. The crew managed to restart the engines, which took some time as all the pumps had to be shut down and restarted manually.
The second day saw all the food storage refridgerators closed down and no reason for this event could be found.
On the third day at 11.45 pm one of the crew noticed that the lights were out in the ships air conditioning room and a door leading to the crews accomodation was opened. The engineer passed through the door to investigate and spoke to two firemen. But the next day the same door was found welded shut! Apparently, the door had been welded before the ship left dock (because of a fault), but the door was definitely open for the engineer to have walked through it.
A few minutes after this event the engines stopped again, leaving just emergency lighting and steering (again one minute after midnight!). They were restarted once more, but later it was discovered that the starter motor for the emergency diesel generator had been dismantled. All the parts of the generator were neatly placed by the machine as if someone had examined it.
At exactly noon on the third day the craft vanished in the same manner as it had appeared.
Although all these events were recorded in the ships log, this is the first time (to our knowledge) that this event has been published. We would be interested in hearing from any of the crew that were aboard the BP Oil Tanker “British Grenadier” at this time, in order to obtain more information about this sighting. I was in the back area of the property looking for my horse to go riding that day. Normally my horse along with the others would have been there but for some reason they were spooked and up in the woods on the hillside. I never clued in that something might be wrong. I was on my way back along the fence towards the house when I just stopped in my tracks. I had this feeling that I should look up and that’s when I saw that craft above my head. The air was still. I never heard a sound coming from it. It was just in the air and was not moving. I don’t know how long it was up there before I noticed it but after about 30 seconds it just took off into thin air. I had a clear shot of the whole sky in the valley and I tell you it just vanished within a couple of seconds – without a sound.
The following is the outlay of the ranch where the encounter occurred. Most of our property was located on a hillside (to the left) which cannot be seen on the following diagram.
For days afterwards I drew a stick diagram of the body and how the wings were. I knew there was something odd about those wings facing the wrong way. I never associated it to a UFO for many many years because UFOs were suppose to be flying saucers, or at least that’s what I was lead to believe. The first thing I thought, after my mind went blank staring at that thing in awe, was that it was military. Perhaps because it was black, who knows. But it wasn’t right and was completely out of place. Not to mention hovering over my head. I also began drawing a strange diagram. I spent days working at it to get it right. The teardrops had to be very very dark with a slight shine to it. The original was very elaborate but I lost it over the years while moving around so much. Today I just attempted to recreate how it generally looked. The whole time a word kept popping into my head as I was working on it. Satus. I just felt it had something to do with this diagram and so I wrote the word with it. I felt so strongly that this diagram was important and that it had meaning. Who knows.
It wasn’t long after my encounter with the craft that I ended up back in that end of the property again. This time to bury my cat who had suddenly just up and died for no reason. I remember he had blood coming out of his nose. I loved him so much I wanted to bury him near a tree which had a hollow in it. I loved that spot for some reason. Felt special to me. The horses were back there eating grass and hanging out like they do. I laid my cat down in a deep hole I dug and then covered him up. I knew if I didn’t protect him the coyotes would get to him so I went to search for some big rocks to cover his burial spot. I found a couple went and laid them near the burial and then went in search of some more. I remember feeling like I was being followed so I stopped and turned around. A young filly was the closest to me, however she was eating grass and looking away so I figured I was imagining things so I continued searching for big rocks. Again I felt like I was being followed. The young filly was even closer but she was eating and ignoring me. I turned back around and continued my search. This time I knew for sure something was behind me. I wheeled around in time to see the filly rear up. She towered over my head. That’s when I realised she was going to strike me. I looked down in time otherwise she would have broken my face. Instead she struck the top of my head.
I collapsed to the ground thinking she broke my neck. I screamed blue murder. I just knew she would attack me again if I didn’t get out of there so I crawled to a windrow nearby. My folks heard the scream back at the house and came running. They thought I was being mauled by a bear. My face and long hair was covered with blood from the gash on top my head. To this day we do not know why the horse attacked me. Our horses were good and had never done that before. And it never happened again. The attack occurred close to where I had seen that strange craft. To this day I have not come across anyone having had a similar sighting. I’m still waiting to hear from anyone who has. Hi Ken : I had gone to Teignmouth to photograph the Queen Mary 2 luxury cruise ship that was anchored just offshore there. I had found myself a nice place to sit down on the beach that was just opposite the ship. I had such a great vantage point from this position and I had just begun to take photographs with my Nikon P900 camera when a black unidentified object flew directly over the top of the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship and headed off towards Exmouth where I lost sight of it. I captured the unidentified object in two photographs. I looked around for a while to see if there were any other strange objects in the area but there was not. Now this is very strange as back on the 7th of July I captured an unidentified object right above the carnival magic cruise ship that was anchored near this area at hopes nose. I now believe that these objects are purposely following me around to all the places I visit. Furthermore it would seem that this phenomena is aware of where I am pointing my camera and is purposely flying in to frame where I can capture them in a photograph. This could be there way of disclosing their presents to mankind. We are definitely not a alone. The photographs were taken at 5:47 PM on the 8th of September 2020, at Teignmouth Devon England. Hi Ken hope your ok : I had gone to Hopes Nose to photograph the four cruise ships that were anchored just offshore there. I had been photographing the ships from different locations around the coast all week and I had captured some great shots of them. I had also captured many anomalous objects near the ships. One of these unidentified objects had flown directly over the top of the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship which I had managed to photograph. It was very strange. I had a great vantage point of the ships from where I was standing at Hopes Nose and I had just started to take photographs of two of the ships with my Nikon P900 Camera when I spotted an anomalous object near the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship just like before. Whatever the object was it seemed to be metallic in nature and the sun was reflecting off of the right side of it. The object flew down towards the ship and then stopped and hovered there for a couple of seconds before it just seemed to disappear into thin air. I was really stumped by this as it was far too large to be a drone and there was no sound at all. What the hell did I witness and where did it go? Hi Ken : I went back to Hope’s Nose to take some more photographs of the three cruise ships that are anchored there just offshore but unfortunately the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship had left during the night and now only two cruise ships remain, Azura and Ventura which are owned by P & O cruises. I was using a different camera for a change and I really wanted to see if I could capture any more anomalous objects around the cruise ships using this particular camera. I focused my attention on the Ventura cruise ship and then started to take photographs when to my total surprise a black UFO flew down diagonally from the sky and entered into the sea. The UFO made no splash whatsoever as it made contact with the water nor was there any sound which was odd. This seems to be a common occurrence with these unidentified crafts whatever they are. This UFO was moving at a high rate of speed and I only managed to capture it in one photograph using the Nikon cool pix L26 camera as it is only single shot and does not have burst mode like my other cameras. The photograph shows the object just moments before it had past in front of the Ventura cruise ship and entered the water. The morons over at Devon Live news would of said that this object was a drone that could fly in and out of the water at Mach 3 with out making any splash or sound. That would be an amazing feat for a commercial drone. Where can I buy one like that. I have seen a real increase in UFO and USO activity around this area of Devon for some strange reason. It really is a great mystery as to why they are so prevalent around this area and especially why they seem to be so fascinated by these anchored cruise ships. I have captured these strange craft using three separate cameras now. A Nikon P900 a Sony HX-300 and Nikon coolpix L26 camera. This proves to me that it really doesn’t matter what type of camera you use to capture these strange anomalous objects. If you have the time to photograph this area you will capture these bizarre objects in your photographs. It really is quite fascinating and worthy of further investigation. Thirty-four years ago this month, at the height of a glorious 41-year run that ended in 1994, the former Loring Air Force Base, off to my northwest, was in an uproar about several close encounters of the weird kind.
On Oct. 27 and 28, 1975, unidentified aircraft that buzzed the base, taking particular interest in the weapons storage area of the Strategic Air Command installation, had the base on high-alert status.
With a reporter’s appreciation for the offbeat news story, I cannot help but think of the incident each time I drive through the East Gate entrance to the old base that now is a civilian commerce center.
The story, well-chronicled by former BDN Presque Isle Bureau Chief Dean Rhodes in articles archived in the newspaper’s morgue, also can be found on several Web sites. I Googled “Loring AFB UFO sightings” and found a bunch of them.
Shortly before 8 PM, on Oct. 27, an airman patrolling the Loring weapons dump area saw an unidentified aircraft nearing the north perimeter of the base at an altitude of about 300 feet, its red navigational light and a white strobe light in operation.
At the same time, the Loring control tower got a radar hit from an unknown aircraft 10 to 13 miles east-northeast of the base. Numerous attempts were made to contact the aircraft, but there was no response.
The circling aircraft, described as having “helicopter-like” characteristics, came within 300 yards of the base nuclear weapons area. Loring went into alert mode and an intense ground sweep was conducted by security personnel.
The intruder circled for about 40 minutes before heading toward Grand Falls, N.B., some 12 miles away, where it dropped from the radar screen.
The next night featured a repeat performance. This time, airmen reported seeing a silent orange-and-red object shaped like an elongated football hovering over the runway. It was described as being about four car lengths long, solid, with no doors or windows, and with no visible propellers or engines. It eventually departed in the direction of Grand Falls.
A Maine Army National Guard helicopter out of Bangor was deployed to Loring to assist in the hunt for the interloper. Several years later, UFO investigators Larry Fawcett and Barry Greenwood interviewed witnesses, including CWO Bernard Poulin, a helicopter crew member.
Poulin said radar “was not painting the object that was being reported” by ground troops who had directed his chopper to locations where they were seeing the unauthorized aircraft. Observers aboard the helicopter never could spot the intruder.
Questions and speculation abound to this day. Was it an unannounced test of base security by SAC headquarters? A probe by an unfriendly force? Or (cue the ominous background music) was it a bona fide Unidentified Flying Object of the extraterrestrial upper-case kind, rather than a more earthly unidentified flying object, lower-case version?
Three decades after the event and 15 years after Loring was shuttered, is the incident still considered by the government to be too hot for the public to handle? If so, why?
On the Web site www.rense.com, the son of a former security policeman on duty at the weapons storage area the night of the first sighting wrote that his father, mesmerized, had been watching the hovering aircraft as 42nd Bomb Wing commander, Col. Robert E. Chapman, arrived on the scene.
“He asked my father what the hell was going on, and why he hadn’t called this in to the tower,” the son wrote. “My father’s response was that he had called the tower and they had told him he was full of [bleep], and they wouldn’t [alert] the wing commander because, as they saw it, there was nothing there.”
The colonel contacted the tower and asked the noncommissioned officer on duty to verify the light that the colonel was seeing. The NCO insisted he could see nothing out of the ordinary.
The commander then reportedly told the man, “If the eagle on my shoulder sees that light, then those stripes on your damned sleeve better see it, as well.”
The tower guy quickly replied that he could now clearly see the light.
The answer, authentic or not, endures. So, too, the questions.

Triangular shaped unidentified flying object with three lights at its corners hovering over the Hudson River for roughly 45 seconds.
I took a ride down to my favorite fishing spot just to see if I saw I need fish jumping this evening after I stop at Quick Chek to pick up a pack of cigarettes. I got out of my vehicle and was looking around, I decided since I didn’t see any fish I would take a look up and see what the Stars looked like this evening, I even turned on my Google Sky Map. As I was in miring Jupiter and Saturn brightly shining south of me, I turned to the east, looking towards Brooklyn. Just for reference my fishing spot is located right near cruise port Bayonne for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. From this position I have an amazing view from Staten Island to the Verrazano Bridge, all of Brooklyn oh, and the entirety of Manhattan all the way around to the Statue of Liberty and most of the Jersey City skyline.
As I was looking due east I noticed a very large triangular shaped object with three lights at each point of the triangle. It appeared to me to be at roughly 10,000 feet and moving very slow pace. I was trying to train my camera on the object my phone camera does not have enough resume ability 4 me to be able to get a clear picture it was all distorted and pixelated. For even more specificity, from my location it appeared to be above Mars by a few hundred feet. So, the long and short of it is I observed large triangular shaped object moving Eastward slowly for about 45 seconds before it basically cook off at a speed that is unimaginable to me in need Eastern Direction and that was the last I saw of it. I have lived in this town my entire life oh, and this is the first time I have ever seen what appeared to be a UFO over this town. It was absolutely incredible to see. I will never forget it! On August 22, 2015 ( I only know the date from my time stamp on my phone) I was sitting at a traffic light when I noticed a glint of light in the sky above. I was at the traffic light for about 1 minute. When I was driving through the traffic light I snapped a few pictures. Then I blinked and it was gone. I don’t know where it went. Pretty cool thing to observe I guess. There was a few other cars in the area. I don’t know if they saw it. It sat stationary and the spun very very slowly end over end? Then I blinked and lost sight of it. Thanks for reading.

In 1977, the Brazilian island of Colares was visited by flying objects of an unknown nature. Nearly all kinds of UFOs were seen; some big, some small, saucer shaped, cigar shaped, luminous or not. They arrived from the North every day, from the sky and also sometimes from underwater, and it lasted for months.
Regularly, some Island inhabitants were targeted by the objects, sending strange rays to them, and many were badly hurt, with two reported dead. The Army intervenes, the press follows. 35 people were hurt by the strange rays, and many fled from the Island.
The events mainly concentrated on the city of Colares, about 2,000 inhabitants, on Colares Island, which is in the region of Pará, the delta of the Amazon river on the northeastern coast of Brazil. But the whole region was visited by the same phenomenon. Which has brought many ufologists to visit the city.
Beginning in August of 1977, in the island of Colares, a strange phenomenon began to occur, that the Brazilian call Chupa-chupa.
Strange luminous objects appeared over the few towns of the region. These objects were often projecting thin rays, seemingly of light, directed at the people. The touched people fainted and woke up with a strange anemia. They stated that they felt as if some of their blood was removed by the strange rays.
The fisherman Manoel João de Oliveira Filho, aged 44, married and residing at No. 64 rua Carneiro de Mendonça, was strolling towards the beach early one morning with some companions, to spend a day at sea fishing.
Before they had arrived at their boats, they saw – above the Rio Novo beach – an object shaped “like an umbrella” stationary at about 4 meters from the ground. From its under-part came a vivid white light.
No sound was detectable from it from where they were standing. The object then moved away silently towards Machadinho, turning off the light as it went.
A carpenter named João Dias Costa (aged 44) and a fisherman, Joao da Cruz Silva (aged 54), both of Colares town, saw the notorious “luminous spheres” so greatly feared on account of their “low skimming swoops”.
Another man from Colares town, Sr. Zacarias dos Santos Barata (74) saw the glowing balls on two nights. The first time, the object came from the direction of the Bay of Marajo, and rapidly vanished towards the interior of Colares Island.
On the second night another ball, blue in color, flew over the local football field. “It lit up all the trees around the field and then vanished towards the town’s center,” said Sr. Zacarias.
Sr. Sebastiao Vernek “Zizi” Miranda described his experience as follows:
“I was there with my wife, Palmira, in front of the church on the sea-front, when at about 8.00 pm, we saw an intensely vivid “orangish” light coming in from the sea towards the town. As it approached, it climbed, and then, moving rapidly, vanished towards the inner part of the Island.”
The barber Carlos Cardoso de Paula (aged 49), living at Travessa Deodoro da Fonseca No. 231, had a still closer encounter with the “lights”, as he himself relates:
“Everybody else was asleep. I was just still having my last smoke when suddenly a ball of fire entered our house up near the ridgepole of the gable. It started shooting round and round the room, and then finally came right close to my hammock.
“It ran up my right leg as far as the knee (without touching my skin). I watched with much curiosity as it then moved across to the other leg. Then I started to feel feeble and sleepy. My cigarette fell from my hand and I came to and let out a yell. The fireball quickly vanished and everybody woke up.
“I think it had been searching for a vein in my body but didn’t manage to do so. As its brightness grew, I felt a sort of heat coming from it.”
Worker Raimundo Costa Leite, very well known in the town of Colares for his skill in making and repairing fishing nets, described his own experience:
“At about 4.00 in the early morning, I went with my pal “Baixinho” (Orivaldo Malaquias Pinheiro) to fish off the beach at Cajueiro. As I recall it, Baixinho shouted, ‘Look! There it is!’ and took to his heels, leaving me alone on the beach.
“The craft was of the size and shape of a helicopter, made no noise, and was flying very high.
“I could have taken a pot-shot at it if I had had a gun with me. I was terrified when the machine shone a sort of searchlight down on the beach. That light was sweeping the ground, illuminating everything! It was a bluish light (sort of ‘cold light’).
“It made it easier for me to see this because the craft had several small reddish lights beneath its front part… The craft seemed to be seeking something on the ground.
“I was scared that it would touch me and, despite my poor physical condition, I managed to run quite a distance, and then Baixinho returned and helped me. The object had come from the direction of the sea and it headed off into the inner part of the Island.”
Actually, so many more people reported being attacked by beams of light from small UFOs in this area that only few of them are mentioned here.
On October 20, three women were hit in the breast by the beams of light: “All three were overcome by tremendous nervous tension and an unknown sort of lassitude as though they were receiving constant electric shocks,” wrote a newspaper.
On the evening of October 29, Benedito Campos and his seventeen-year-old wife Silvia Mara were at home when “they spotted an oval, silvery object emitting a greenish beam like a searchlight towards the room where they were lying.
“Filled with curiosity, they approached a small window and, as they did so, the beam shot in through it, and made straight for Silvia, throwing her into a sort of benumbed trance-like state.”
Silvia, who was pregnant at the time, then fainted, whereupon two entities apparently entered the house carrying something resembling a golden torch and “once again the beam struck Silvia, this time hitting her in the left arm at the level of the wrist.
“Her veins seemed to ‘rise up out of the body’ so swollen were they by the beam striking them.”
Later, while at a neighbour’s house, Benedito was also briefly paralyzed by a light beam. Fearing a miscarriage, husband and wife were taken at night by boat to the Mosqueiro Medical Clinic, followed all the way by the UFO, which made no further attempt to harm them.
They remained there for three days while the wife recovered, but Benedito “was in a state of severe depression for some days, his motor functions disturbed and, as his mother reports, weeping frequently.”
The UFO activity over Colares Island was so intense that the people began to think the “Chupa-chupas” were trying to make some sort of contact with them. Such was the view expressed by Sr. Raimundo Ferreira “Mimi” Monteiro. He still believes the craft were coming up out of the sea or out of some underwater base located in the Bay of Marajó, possibly in the region of the Caldeirão.
Alfredo Bastos Filho, a former town mayor, confirmed this and said: “Yes, indeed I can tell you, there wasn’t a moment of peace. The populace were terrified by that “Chupa-chupa” affair. I even managed to see one of the injured victims myself – Dona Mirota, a lady who was receiving medical treatment at the Health Clinic.”
The locals became so frightened that many of the women and children left town. The men that remained lit bonfires to mount guard at night, letting off fireworks and banging tins whenever they saw the Chupa-chupas approaching.
Others locked themselves in their homes for fear of the phenomenon. It was mentioned later that the more din people made and the more bonfires and fireworks, the closer the craft came.
By November 1977 doctor Wellaide Cecim Carvalho, the physician in charge of the health unit on Colares Island, took care of to some 35 people claiming to have been touched by the strange light.
She took blood samples, and concluded that the victims suffered from generalized hypertermia, superficial chronic headache, burnings, intense heat, nauseas, tremors in the body, giddiness, asthenia and presented very small orifices in the skin where they were hit by the rays.
She wrote: “All of them had suffered lesions to the face or the thoracic area.” The lesions, looking like radiation injuries, “began with intense reddening of the skin in the affected area. Later the hair would fall out and the skin would turn black. There was no pain, only a slight warmth. One also noticed small puncture marks in the skin. The victims were men and women of varying ages, without any pattern.”
In describing their experiences with these light beams, most victims claimed that “They were immediately immobilized, as if a heavy weight pushed against their chest. The beam was about [seven or eight centimetres] in diameter and white in color. It never hunted for them but hit them suddenly.
“When they tried to scream, no sound would come out, but their eyes remained open. The beam felt hot, ‘almost as hot as a cigarette burn,’ barely tolerable. “After a few minutes the column of light would slowly retract and disappear.” Most symptoms usually disappeared after seven days. “
At Agulhas Fincadas, Mrs. Maria Lopes, inhabitant of Vila Gorete, to the margins of Rio Tapajós, in the neighborhoods of Santarém (Pará), tells her case involving “strange devices” that absorb energy from human beings, known as Chupa-Chupa.
“I saw an object to settle quiet in the bushes here close… It had left two men and a woman, who had started to move with two fishing,” counts Maria.
Other people in the place had been paralyzed when observing the scene.
Many had hurt themselves when trying to escape one of the strange objects. In many cases, the marks left by the rays on the victims skin were marks that could have up to eight small holes. In these occurrences, the Chupa-Chupa term was proven right as many of them had lost up to approximately 300 ml of blood, from these wounds.
This was the case of Claudomira, resident in the Island of Colares. She claims that her family already did not sleep right with fear of the devices.
“In one of these days, after midnight, I woke up because of a strong flash, a sort of focussed bright green light ray that came down from the top roof to my left chest. I tried to shout, but my voice did not function. I felt an esquisite heat… Later, that beam of light diminished and I saw that I was burnt.”
Claudomira told that she sighted a strange object, much similar to an umbrella, from which a being of clear skin, oriental eyes, and great ears.
According to her, the creature was dressed in tight green clothes and had a sort of pistol in the hand, which emitted the luminous beam. At this moment, Claudomira felt perforated as by needles on her breast.
“After this, I felt a migraine headache and a great weakness, that left me collapsed for several days.”
The next day, she had been directed to the Sanitary Unit of the town, where she was taken care of by Doctor Wellaide Cecim Carvalho, who sent her to the Medical Institute Renato Chaves, in Belém, for backup examinations.
Her ill-being and the constant migraines lasted many days, followed by fatigue and weakness. Years later, Claudomira still did not feel cured.
“My health never came back to be the same since that night.”
She is not the only one to have passed for such situation. Some estimate that thousands of people, also men, had suffered the attacks of the Chupa-Chupa in the years between 1970 and 1980, and they still occur today, though less frequently.
“Emotional and physical sequels are very common in these cases,” affirmed Dr. Wellaide Cecim Carvalho, who took care of Claudomira.
Although she was skeptical and she believed that the occurrences of Chupa-Chupa were popular belief or some witchcraft, Dr. Wellaide ended up convinced of the veracity of the cases when she was confronted with their increasing frequency.
“With the increase of hurt people, I started to give more attention each time in the existing injuries. I saw things that do not exist in my medical books,” she said.
According to her, the victims of Chupa-Chupa presented strangest burnings, not as those provoked by fire or hot water, as she thought herself, but very similar to ones produced by cobalt irradiation.”
The injuries varied in intensity. First it started with an intense reddishness in the hit area, known as hiperemia. Later, the skin of the affected region started to fall (alopecia) and days later the skin peeled off.
In this period of development, said Wellaide, it was possible to note holes, similar to perforations by needles.
One of the most interesting cases she took care of happened with a lady who had cardiac problems. She arrived at the doctor’s office very nervous and immediately she showed her left breast, in which were two strange holes.
She complained of giddiness, shortness of breath, and weakness – characteristic symptoms already known by people hit by the phenomenon. The doctor tried to calm her and she returned to her home.
But at about 03:00 pm, however, Dr. Wellaide was called to the residence of the woman, who had become very sick. Her whole body was still, and she gasped for air, but she did not have fever and did not vomit.
Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the doctor took her to a hospital in Belém.
Hours later, she received the medical papers and the certificate of death forwarded by the Medical Institute Legal Renato Chaves, which stated a heart stroke as cause of the death.
The intriguing fact is that at no time, doctors in Belém had mentioned something about the injuries on her body and did not even say if they had effected backing examinations.
Regarding the possible effects of the UFOs on the supply of electricity, Sr. Geraldo Aranha de Oliveira (aged 37) of the C.E.I.P.A. (Pará Electricity Plant) explained:
“In 1977 the C.E.I.P.A. sub-station consisted of three Scania 125 kw engines supplying light to the city from 6 pm till midnight. I don’t recall having ever seeing a UFO over the plant. I merely remember that, at that period, lots of lightning conductor rods were burnt out and, at times, some fuses too.”
COMAR (Comando Aéreo Regional, the Regional Air Command of the Brazilian Air Forces), arrived in Belém, and made a series of researches in the region, under the project name “Operation Plate.” (Operation Saucer)
Captain Uyrangê Bolivar Soares Nogueira de Hollanda Lima, head of information office, directed all the operations in the region. During the investigations, the Air Force obtained four films and hundreds of photographs of flying disks in the basin of Marajó.
They also were a great help to the population, providing psychologists assistance, to eliminate the panic that sized the entire region.
The beams of light from the craft were described as being so bright that they resembled those used to illuminate night sporting events. They were “always sharply defined, directed with perfect precision towards any target – houses, people, boats, trees, even the Brazilian Air Force’s helicopters deployed over the island during the investigations.”
On one occasion, one of these powerful beams is reported to have forced one of the helicopters to land, although the exact technical reason is not given. (Giese, 1996)
According to a statement by Sr. Sebastião V. Miranda, former resident of Colares, “the Brazilian Air Force spent more than 35 days in the town, and installed various devices near the Bacurí beach.”
Sra. Alba Câmara Vilhena, a married lady living at 683 rua 15 de Novembro, added: “At the time of the “Chupa-chupa” everybody was scared to sleep at night, and so almost every night we went away to be with relatives. On one occasion some people saw one of the craft. It was round, and all luminous.
“Just at that moment, a helicopter of the F.A.B. (Brazilian Air Force) was flying quite near to our house. Then we saw the UFO direct a very powerful beam on to the helicopter, obliging it to land on the São Pedro Airfield. That happened at about 8.00 pm one evening.”
Professor Raimundo Sebastião Aranha said: “At that period I was closely connected with some of the Air Force’s enquiries. They were seeking more information about the “Chupa-chupa.”
He said the Air Force had with them masses of equipment: cars, helicopters, radio transmitters, cameras, powerful glasses, etc. He recalls that, in addition to the rank and file Air Force recruits, there was a whole group of officers, and he had the impression that there was a foreigner among them.
“The helicopters that appeared from time to time, bringing materials and personnel, attempted to chase the UFOs but without much success. Indeed, on the contrary, it was the UFOs that chased them!”
One night several months later, on May 24 1978, a journalist and photographer, who had been sent to cover the local UFO encounters, were in their car when despite the heavy rain they were woken up “by a powerful beam of light which – however unbelievable, it may seem – passed through the metallic structure of the roof of the vehicle.”
Not surprisingly they leapt out of the car to see that “a tube-shaped light beam, about [twenty-five centimetres] in diameter, was coming down from above onto the roof of the car and passing through the metal panelling.”
On this and other occasions, they managed to take numerous photographs which they claim that their newspaper later sold to “a North-American group.”
On another night while trying to use flash equipment to photograph one of these craft “the UFO emitted such a vivid beam of light that it smashed the windscreen” of their car. (Giese, 1996)
Several newspapers started to write that the alleged UFOs were weather balloons, or secrets satellites, although there was no possible reason to think that. Local authorities were of course extremely angry because of such articles. Elói Santos, councilman of the old Enclosure for bullfighting stated:
“It is not possible to deny that Belém is, today, a frightened city. We are not technicians, and we do not argue with the conclusion of the authorities. But we did surprise them with declarations of the witnesses who saw light crossing their roofs to penetrate in their skin, removing a little of blood and leaving visible marks of needles and burnings on their epidermis.”
During the “Chupa-chupa” wave, many new “sighting zones” emerged, such as Pinheiro and São Bento in the State of Maranhão, and Viseu and Bragança in the State of Pará. Some areas indeed reached such a ‘level of saturation’ that rarely a single night passed without UFO sightings.
One of these “ufological epicentres” was over the bay called the Baía do Sol (Bay of the Sun) and had a direct effect upon the Island of Mosqueiro. Mosqueiro is one of the most important of the islands, and it is the biggest, belonging to the municipality of Belém.
Public concern was immense, all the men banding together at night to organize watches, with bonfires and fireworks, thinking these would deter the craft. But nothing seemed to stop the UFOs, not even the Air Force’s film men and their cameras – and even less the journalists from the Estado do Pará!
There were frequent and regular sightings of mother-ships, probes, and flying saucers, all performing incredible manoeuvers over the Bay.
A 61-year-old widow, Elisa da Silva, residing on rua do Bacari, was one of the witnesses in that year (1977). One night, from her house, she saw a flying saucer appear. Vivid white light came from small windows or apertures on it. Seen from below, she said, it seemed quite dark and quite flat. It vanished towards the South, in total silence.
In the opinion of some of the members of the GUA (Amazonian Ufological Group) based in Belém, there exists, or there did exist for a considerable time, at some point beneath the Baía do Sol (“Bay of the Sun”) a concealed base for extraterrestrial probe craft. Such an idea would account for the constant appearances, in recent years, of unidentified flying objects over the region.
In 1981, one woman who had been exposed to the UFO beams in Colares died, although it is not clear that her death was clearly related to the attack.
In 1986, not far from Colares, two persons on Crab Island were discovered “badly decomposed by heat” amid numerous sightings of balls of fire in the sky; cause of death “not known” in either case.
Same area, different time: a “ball of fire” seriously burned three men out cutting wood on Crab Island; one of the woodchoppers died.
One of the two survivors, Edmundo, had a gaping electrical-type burn injury on the side of his chest, an almost perfect replica of the chest burn suffered by Jack Angel in Georgia in 1974.
In 1993, again in Colares, a 32-year-old missionary and a 40-year-old domestic worker died, a month apart, as a result of close encounters with UFO; according to Ufologist Bob Pratt, these women were “both burned on the throat and the chest, as were most of the other people the doctor treated.”
Said Pratt: “I know of about ten deaths that have some connection with UFO close encounters.” NOTE: The above image is CGI.
A slight departure from the pentagonal shape is the octagonal UFO. According to the Watford City, North Dakota, newspaper, local citizen Barb Ohnsrud and her son Kent saw an eight-sided UFO go over their house on November 2, 1978.
Each witness claimed the UFO was first seen as a bright light that quickly came down from the sky like lightning in a bad storm.
It passed overhead just 60 feet above ground and was moving quite slowly — only 25 mph.
The UFO was 40 feet across, with a large red light in the middle of the bottom surface; blue lights ringed the whole vehicle.
It had no tail, nose or propellers. After the UFO disappeared to the northeast, each of the witnesses made independent sketches.
The pentagonal/octagonal UFOs remain a mystery. No satisfactory explanation has been found to date.
(Editor’s Note: It is interesting to note that some reports of this event say the object was pentagonal, instead of octagonal. If you have ever worked with 3-D, or dealt with shapes, this would be an easy mistake to make.
Turning an object in any direction can give the object a different look or shape. For example, a disc-shaped object seen straight on can appear to be a cigar-shape, etc.) NOTE: The above image is CGI.
On
Wednesday, January 05, 2000, the National UFO Reporting Center received two
telephone messages (at 0316 and 0351 hrs. Pacific Standard Time) from Officer
Thomas “Ed” Barton, employed by the Lebanon, IL, Police Department.
The messages apprised our Center that a UFO sighting had occurred in St.
Clair County, Illinois, and in surrounding areas, at approximately 0410 hrs.
(Central) earlier that morning.
Later
the same morning, we were able to talk to Officer Barton, who reported to us the
following:
At
approximately 0410 hrs. (Central) on that morning, he overheard an announcement
by the St. Clair (IL) Emergency Dispatch operator that a citizen had entered the
Highland, IL, police station, and requested that an officer go outside and view
a very peculiar object that was hovering nearby in the sky.
The citizen had witnessed the bizarre looking object on his way to work,
and he apparently refused to leave the station until a police officer had viewed
the object with him.
Having
heard the announcement about the incident over his radio, Officer Barton looked
to the southeast from his location in Lebanon, and noticed two extremely bright
white lights suspended in the sky, close to the horizon. The two lights were
radiating so much light that the spectacle reminded Officer Barton of the
Japanese “Rising Sun” symbol, used on the Japanese battle flag.
A very short period of time later, the two large lights appeared to merge
into one, and the illumination the object was radiating appeared to increase
dramatically.
Officer
Barton began driving south and east in attempt to approach the object.
He turned his overhead flashers on, and at times was driving at 75-80
m.p.h. toward the object, which was still generally to the southeast of his
position. After a short period of
time, Officer Barton realized that the object appeared to be traveling toward
him.
He
stopped his vehicle, extinguished his overhead flashers, and rolled down the
window on the passenger side of his vehicle.
The object approached his location, and passed overhead at an estimated
altitude of 1,000 to 1,500 feet, and within an estimated 100 feet lateral
distance of his position on the ground. It
was headed generally to the west, or northwest, at this time.
The object was distinctly triangular in shape, with three white lights on
the apices of the triangle, and it exhibited a “galaxy” of peculiar lights
on its aft end, including white, hues of red or pink, and perhaps other colors,
as well.
After
passing overhead Officer Barton, the object suddenly turned to its left, without
either banking or yawing apparently, it suddenly accelerated quite dramatically,
and seemed to “streak” to the west, covering approximately 8 miles,
the officer estimated, in approximately 3 seconds.
(Note:
Officer Barton, in multiple telephone conversations with our
organization, and during at least one radio broadcast, has emphasized how almost
unbelievably quickly the object accelerated and moved a considerable distance to
the southwest in just a few seconds. Its
velocity was almost unimaginable, he reports.
This is one aspect of the case that strongly suggest to us that the
object almost certainly was not of human manufacture.)
He
radioed St. Clair County Emergency Dispatch, apprising them that he had the
object in sight, and advising them as to the direction it had moved, generally
to the southwest. He recommended
that dispatch contact units to the south and west of his position, e.g. Shiloh,
Millstadt and Dupo, to have the officers there attempt to spot the object from
their vantage points
Apparently
at least one officer from Shiloh, IL, witnessed the object next, and two other
officers, who have not come forward and who apparently do not wish to be
identified, witnessed the object while they were standing in the cemetery of
their town, as well.
An
officer from the Millstadt Police Department, Officer Craig Stevens, with whom
NUFORC also spoke, overheard the broadcast, and moved his cruiser to a dark part
of that town to see if he could spot the object in the night sky.
He quickly spotted the object to the west of his location, at
approximately 45 degrees above the horizontal plane, and gauged its size as
“huge.” He estimated that
it was “one or two stories” tall, and perhaps three stories
long.” It had several very
bright lights on it.
St.
Clair Dispatch requested that someone, if possible, attempt to get a photograph
of the object. In response to that
request, Officer Stevens removed polaroid-type camera stored in the trunk of his
cruiser and quickly photographed the object. Because the outside temperature was low, approximately 18-20
degrees (F), neither the camera, nor the film functioned well, so the resolution
of the photograph is not good.
After
Officer Stevens had taken the photograph, the object appeared to move further to
the west, moving toward Dupo, IL, Cahokia, IL, and St. Louis, MO.
A Dupo police officer may have witnessed the object at that time.
In
the final analysis, the police departments and communities involved in the
incident include the following: Highland,
Summerfield, Lebanon, Shiloh, Mascoutah, Millstadt, Dupo, and Cahokia, Illinois.
The object was observed by officers from at least the following
communities (in chronological sequence): Lebanon,
Shiloh, (Other?), Millstadt, Dupo, and Cahokia (?).
Notes
and Addenda:
1)
Scott Air
Force Base: At one point during the
sighting, we estimate, the object was within 2-3 statute miles of Scott Air
Force Base. However, an official
spokesman for that base reportedly made an official statement to the effect that
A) their tower was closed for approximately one hour during the time of the
sighting; B) their base radar had been turned off for unspecified reasons during
the same hour; and 3) none of their personnel was aware of the sighting, and
none had seen the object.
2)
NUFORC
has received several unconfirmed reports that shortly after the incident,
several of the police departments involved in the sighting, and several of the
actual eyewitnesses to the incident, received visits from two, or more,
individuals, who are active employees from the federal government.
They requested that the parties involved in the incident curtail all
their statements to the press. We
are unable to confirm these reports at the time this Summary Statement is being
prepared.
3)
Alleged
intercept by military aircraft: NUFORC
has an unconfirmed report from a highly reliable source that jet fighters from a
nearby Air National Guard unit may have been “scrambled” to take a
look at the object. The nearest ANG
unit we are aware of is the Missouri Air National Guard, which flies F-15’s out
of Lambert Field/St. Louis Airport. We
have a second hand report that personnel at the airport witnessed a take-off of
F-15’s at approximately 0420 hrs. that morning.
We have a second report from an individual who remembers having been
awakened at approximately the time of the sighting by the sound of military jets
taking off from Lambert Field.
4)
Other
witnesses: NUFORC has received a
report from a woman who was driving to work that morning and allegedly witnessed
the object. We are awaiting her
written report. Other witnessed
have asserted that they may have seen the object earlier to the north, near Lake
Michigan. We have received no
written reports of such sightings. We
also have an unconfirmed report that the object was video taped during the early
part of the sighting. This fact,
too, is yet to be confirmed.
5)
Media coverage: The incident
has gained wide coverage in the print and electronic media, including the Art
Bell radio talk show (“Coast to Coast”); the Jeff Rense talk show
(“Sightings”); German public radio; many other radio programs across the
country; The St. Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper; Knight-Ridder publications; the
Los Angeles Times; the Chicago Sun-Times; other publications that subscribe to,
or carry releases from, the above media outlets.
6) Investigations: The incident continues to be investigated by members of the Mutual UFO Network (Illinois and Missouri chapter), by the National Institute for Discovery Science (Please see link to their website), Mrs. Barbara Becker of Columbia, MO, and perhaps by other independent individuals and organizations. UFO Reporting Center Case Brief
Ides of March Sightings
March 15, 1995
Traditionally, the Center identifies a given sighting by assigning to
it the name of the nearest city, or other geographical feature or landmark.
It the case of the cluster of sighting reports we received over the Hotline
on the evening of March 15, l995, so many states and cities were involved,
we are going to borrow a line from Shakespeare regarding the possible perils
of that date…
The first call we received was from Cannis City, FL, reporting that
two males were walking along railroad tracks near that town and were stunned
to see a luminous, white disc-shaped object streak across the sky, pass
below or near several aircraft in the night sky, appear to ascend back
up into the sky, and disappear to the north. The report seemed to be sincere,
and bore several of the hallmarks that the Center knows to be characteristic
of legitimate reports. However, it was so much like so many other reports
the Hotline receives on a regular basis that we were not yet alerted to
the possibility that other reports were soon to follow…
The third call we received minutes later from a gentleman in Jackson,
TN, who reported witnessing a blue-green “cloud of light” hovering
in the night sky. He had seen it streak from the northwest beneath, he
thought, almost solid overcast, hover for approximately 30 or 40 seconds,
during which time he could almost see some kind of object apparently imbedded
in the cloud of light. The object then began to drift generally to the
southwest, the caller reported, at which time it belched out a large “cloud”
of sparks, and then streaked southwest, quickly disappearing from sight.
Minutes later, we received a call from a sergeant in the Missouri Highway
Patrol communications headquarters in Jefferson City (“Troop F”).
The officer had been on duty that night at his station on the east side
of Jefferson City, when together with two Jefferson City police officers,
he witnessed an intensely bright, green light hover in the sky over Jefferson
City for approximately 5-7 seconds. The object began to descend slowly,
at which point its color changed to yellow, and then it simply disappeared
from sight instantly, like a light being switched off. The patrol officer
reported that their “911” emergency dispatch telephone line had
taken many reports from citizens regarding the same object, and one caller
reported that his cellular phone and radio went dead while the object was
near his vehicle.
While I was speaking with the patrol officer, another call came in from
a retired commercial airline pilot, who resides in Vienna, VA. He and his
wife were driving back to their home in Vienna, just a few miles west of
Washington, D.C., after having picked up their daughter at National Airport.
Their daughter is an airline pilot for the same airline that her father
had flown for, and from which he had retired.
As they were driving west (at a heading of approximately 250 degrees
magnetic) on Westford Avenue (?), approaching the exit for Chain Bridge
Road, the father and daughter both simultaneously observed an bright object,
apparently at some distance from them, streak down out of the sky almost
directly ahead of them, descending at approximately 70-80 degrees from
the horizontal plane. They both expected to observe some kind of explosion
when the object reached ground level, but nothing happened! Rather than
explode, the object simply disappeared from sight–uneventfully– when
it reached the horizon…
The next call came from Fairmont, WV, perhaps a hundred miles (or more)
to the northwest of Vienna, VA. A young woman called to report that, after
visiting with her mother in Westover, WV, she had just sat in the driver’s
seat of her car to leave, when a bright light had streaked silently over
her car at a breath-taking velocity. She added that as she glanced up at
the light, she thought she could make out the outline of an “egg-shaped”
object imbedded in the orb of bright light. The back portion of the object
was bright yellow.
Many other calls were received that night, and over subsequent days,
regarding what appears to us to be the same sighting. Thousands (!) of
calls reportedly were received by radio stations and “911” facilities
in St. Louis, MO, after the object passed over that city, and we received
two very convincing call from western Illinois, as well.
In summary, it appears that one or more egg-shaped objects, radiating
intensely bright green, blue-green, and yellow light, and periodically
spewing out a cloud of sparks, streaked over at least seven states, stopping
from time to time, and the whole event occurred in a matter of minutes!!
I would like to close discussion of the case by extending congratulations to Mr. Tom Eckhardt, and the other UFO investigators, of the Acteon Group in St. Louis for their excellent investigation of this case. From our vantage point, their investigation and documentation of the events that occurred over their state on March 15 was second to none, and we are grateful for their wonderful written report regarding the incident.
